Suppose Saturday lunchtime, 3pm, and tea time kick-offs aren’t enough for you. In that case, there is plenty of action across the globe on Saturday evening to hopefully completely fulfil your footballing palette.
Our tipster Andrew Cunneen has you covered with action from Italy’s Serie A, the Netherlands’ Eredivisie, France’s Ligue 1, and (controversially) USA’s MLS. The game does involve Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez, so we’ll let him off.
He has put together an acca for you, with all the excitement kicking off at 7:45pm.

AC Monza v AC Milan
Serie A match at the Brianteo Stadium, Monza, Italy
KO: 7:45pm
AC Milan to win
Milan are a punters’ dream now. It’s about this time of the year when bookies adjust probabilities based on form and not just pre-determined likelihoods from guesswork.
And if you’re to look at the price given about Milan, you’d swear there were only a couple of points between the sides.
Between them, there are six points, a game in hand, and a hundred million quid in performance levels.
While Fonseca’s teams always take some time to get going anyway, the disruption of not playing in ten days going into the Napoli game was a really tough ask against the best side in the country.
Milan won the derby after hammering Venezia and made it three on the spin before missing two penalties against Fiorentina.
Stick with them.
Feyenoord v AZ Alkmaar
Eredivisie match at the Feyenoord Stadium, Rotterdam, Netherlands
KO: 8pm
Feyenoord to win
As much as I don’t believe in opposing Troy Parrott, the last time AZ won a game of any description was at the end of September.
Since then, they’ve failed to convert dominance into goals against Twente, been outclassed in Bilbao, been embarrassed against Fortuna, been reduced to ten against PSV, and been embarrassed before losing to Spurs and letting a two-goal lead slip to Go Ahead Eagles last week.
What about them screams banana skin for Feyenoord here?
Saint-Etienne v Strasbourg
Ligue 1 match at Saint-Etienne Stadium, Saint-Etienne, France
KO: 8pm
Strasbourg to win
I like to get ahead of teams in crises because you can be pretty much guaranteed a run of poor results regardless of the opposition. I’m going to jump in here to see ASSE go on a losing run of multiple games.
After a successful promotion back to Ligue 1 following a playoff win over Metz, many at the club felt like keeping onto Olivier Dall’Oglio stunted their ambition to compete. However, when the signings, albeit high-end through Davitashvili and Stassin, weren’t wholesale, the dressing room was likely on high alert.
The Georgian has been an absolute headliner thus far, but their defensive reinforcements were paper-thin, trying to rely on their Ligue 2-best record from last year.
Saint-Etienne conceded 24 goals in their first nine games of the season, and facing Strasbourg, who have netted more times than second-place Monaco, is daunting.
Atlanta United v Inter Miami
MLS playoff match at Chase Stadium, Miami, USA
KO: 11:00pm
Inter Miami to win
I remember when the less-western world heard about the best of three series in the MLS playoffs and lost their minds.
Listen, as a fan of US sports in general, I see an overall benefit.
The best team wins.
In this instance, going on a short week with other competitions in the background usually puts the away team at a huge disadvantage. But in the playoffs, with Miami to Atlanta being a short spin, all things considered, this one is easy.
If you look at the gulf in the first leg between the sides, the only reasons that wouldn’t be replicated are no longer relevant in the postseason. Messi and co will stomp home.
Did my use of postseason trigger you a bit?
