Newcastle v Arsenal Tips: Joe Cole’s 9/1 Bet Builder for Saturday’s St James’ showdown

Joe Cole fancies Bukayo Saka to rattle the Newcastle net.

The Premier League weekend kicks off with a Northeastern humdinger lined up for us with Toon hosting the Gunners.

Paddy’s pal Joe Cole joined us earlier this week to give us his thoughts, let’s get his Newcastle v Arsenal betting tips.

Newcastle v Arsenal tips

Arsenal to win
Over 3.5 goals
Both teams to score: Yes
Bukayo Saka to score

WHEN: Saturday 2nd of November, 12:30pm
WHERE: St James’ Park, Newcastle
TV: TNT Sports

Newcastle are a bit like the biggest gun in the Premier League, but they’re not allowed to use any bullets. They’re not being allowed to spend their money and bring in players. That’s obviously going to be frustrating for manager Eddie Howe, but he’s done a sensational job up there.

This game is intriguing because the way Newcastle play is absolutely tailor-made for Arsenal. I’m very interested to see what Howe does here tactically and whether he’ll get the team to drop off a bit and play more on the counter with a low block, don’t press Arsenal and let them come at them.

If Newcastle press with their midfield of Bruno Guimaraes, Sandro Tonali, and Joe Willock, that leaves Dan Byrne and Fabian Shar a little exposed at the back. Then they’ll have to go in on Arsenal’s Leandro Trossard, Kai Havertz, and Bukaya Saka, or whoever plays in the false nine position, and that’ll be a real problem for Newcastle because neither of them have the athleticism or the pace, especially when you have Saka or Gabriel Martinelli coming in off the wings too.

If I were in charge of Newcastle, I’d try to bank in. I know they’re at home, but you cannot allow Arsenal to have that much space. If the home side play like they usually do, and I do admire it, they could get a real hiding here.

My gut feeling is they’ll back themselves, as they usually do, but that’ll play into Arsenal’s hands, so I’d be backing Arsenal to Win here

It could be quite a convincing away win, too; I can see it ending 1-3, so Over 3.5 Goals and Both Teams to Score, Yes, goes into the Bet Builder.

I think the goals are going to come from out wide. I’d fancy Saka here after that fantastic goal he got against Liverpool last weekend.
