Carabao Cup action returns this week and a lot of eyes will be on Manchester United, who host Leicester, as they play their first game since Erik ten Hag’s exit.
Ruud van Nistelrooy, who was part of Ten Hag’s coaching staff, has stepped up on an interim basis while United look for a new permanent boss.
Did United’s players want Ten Hag gone and they’ll start to perform after his departure? Or are expectations too high for the Red Devils and they’re just not that good anymore?
Our tipster James Walters is back to deliver his Man Utd v Leicester betting tips and he’s put together a tidy Bet Builder.

Man Utd to win
United lost at West Ham in the Premier League last weekend but we’re slightly writing off the last few weeks as the players clearly didn’t want to play under Ten Hag anymore.
Well, fellas, now you’ve got what you wanted, so it’s time to step up.
The Old Trafford crowd will be up for a home game with club legend Van Nistelrooy taking charge and I’m fully expecting the players to perform ahead of a potential new manager, possibly Ruben Amorim from Sporting, coming in.
Leicester will be fully focused on fighting to stay in the Premier League and if both sides put out their B-team’s, United’s is far superior. Our first Bet Builder leg is Man Utd to win.
Both teams to score – yes
While we’re on a home victory, there’s value in backing both teams to score – yes.
The selection has landed in United’s last three outings and in four of their last six in all competitions. It’s also been a winner in six of Leicester’s last seven Premier League games.
We know the Red Devils have the quality to get on the scoresheet but they may take a while to adapt to Van Nistelrooy’s new tactics – and the Foxes can catch them out to get on the scoresheet, just like they have done in all but one of their games this campaign.
Marcus Rashford to have 2 or more shots on target
It’s time for Marcus Rashford to hit form and being led by someone he would have looked up to in Van Nistelrooy could prove the key.
Rashford has scored four and set up three in all competitions this season and he’s had at least two shots in four of his last five outings (including being subbed after 59 minutes against West Ham on Sunday).
We like the look of Rashford to have 2 or more shots on target. He’ll be keen to prove his worth and he has the perfect opportunity against this struggling Leicester side.
Alejandro Garnacho to score or assist
Alejandro Garnacho has arguably been United’s shining light so far this campaign.
The 20-year-old has scored five and chipped in with three assists but he’s a typical winger. He loves to take defenders on and get a shot away.
Garnacho is averaging just under three shots per game in the Premier League, while his average in the Europa League is 3.7.
He netted twice and set two up the last time United played in the Carabao Cup and although that was against Barnsley and Leicester are tougher opponents, backing Garnacho to score or assist makes plenty of sense.
Over 6.5 Man Utd corners
We’re expecting United to dominate the ball and have more chances than Leicester so the corner tally should rack up for the home side.
United have taken an average of 6.22 corners per game in the Premier League, while Leicester have given up an average of 8.11.
Van Nistelrooy and the Old Trafford crowd will demand their side go forward and put pressure on the Leicester defence. We’re adding in Over 6.5 Man Utd corners to our Bet Builder!
