Aberdeen have enjoyed a fantastic start to the Premiership season. They are unbeaten, sit second, and are level on points with leaders Celtic. They have an excellent opportunity to solidify their place on Wednesday evening. They face a struggling Rangers team, who are six points adrift in third.

Aberdeen are undefeated in all competitions this season as they welcome Rangers to Pittodrie in the Premiership, and the odds on Jimmy Thelin’s side maintaining that run look very healthy. There’s little evidence to suggest that Rangers should be priced just over the evens mark for this game.
After all, they have won just twice away from home all season across all competitions amid a packed fixture calendar that will see them face Motherwell in a League Cup semi-final at the weekend and then Olympiacos in the Europa League next week. Aberdeen have every chance of continuing its strong start to the season in front of its home crowd.

Aberdeen have scored in every game this season, and though Rangers have netted only once away from home in the Premiership, they still post just short of 4 xG across the four matches they have played.
The Dons, meanwhile, are not particularly strong defensively. Although they have kept three clean sheets in the league this season, two have come against teams that scored 11 goals or fewer. Last season, all three league fixtures between Rangers and Aberdeen ended with both teams finding the net.
Rangers to win the most corners
Rangers have been dominating teams regarding the corner count in recent weeks, with each of their last five matches ending with them having superiority in this particular statistic. Even as they lost 1-0 to Kilmarnock a couple of weeks ago, they won six corners to their opponents’ one.
Aberdeen, meanwhile, are likely to play a defensive game here and invite pressure. This is how they worked against Celtic when they drew 2-2, despite losing the corner count 18-2. The Dons average 6.0 corners per match but are giving up 6.78, suggesting Rangers will record more here.
Aberdeen to receive 3+ cards
One of the secrets to Aberdeen’s success this season has been their fearlessness in adopting a robust approach to their play, reflected in their card count in recent weeks. They have received three or more cards in four of their last seven games.
To compete against Rangers, they will likely step up their physical approach to the game and take more risks when making tackles. This was the case against Celtic when they gave up a joint season-high 15 fouls and five cards. Expect a similar type of approach in this encounter.
Rangers to receive 2+ cards
Rangers are picking up more cards this season than Aberdeen, with 24 received in their first nine matches. Remarkably, Philippe Clement’s side have received a couple of cards per match this season.
The Gers are currently on a nine-match streak of receiving at least two cards, while this season, they have picked up at least a couple in 12 of their 14 in the Premiership and Europe combined. With so much riding on this match, they cannot afford to be anything less than wholly committed, and that is likely to manifest itself in a significant card count.
