@FootyAccums deliver their Sunday best bets.

This Sunday afternoon, two of the Premier League’s most pressured head coaches will face off as Julen Lopetegui’s West Ham United take on Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United at the London Stadium. Both teams come into this game in poor form, West Ham especially are in a very poor run of games, having won only one of their last seven games.

Man United’s form isn’t brilliant either, but they’ve still lost only one of their last eight games. Here, Twitter tipsters @FootyAccums give us their verdict on Sundays’ Premier League crisis-club clash West Ham v Manchester United.

West Ham v Man Utd tips

West Ham 1-2 Man United

WHEN: 27th October 2pm
WHERE: The London Stadium

West Ham Team News

Crysencio Summerville will most likely deputise for West Ham for Kudus, who is now suspended for the next three games. The only absentee for the hosts should be summer signing Niclas Füllkrug who has suffered a calf injury.

Manchester United Team News

Manchester United will have their Captain available again this weekend, with Bruno Fernandes returning from suspension. Mazraoui is expected to move back to defence, with Jonny Evans a doubt as he returns from injury.

Antony is also a doubt for Sunday after sustaining an issue on Thursday. Kobbie Mainoo, Leny Yoro, Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw, Tyrell Malacia and Mason Mount are all likely to miss the match.

West Ham Form Guide

In the last five games, West Ham hosted Chelsea in this London Derby, however, it wasn’t a day to remember for the Hammers, Nicolas Jackson opened up the first half scoring a brace after 18 minutes. Lopetegui had half time to regroup the players for the second half, but Cole Palmer’s goal straight after half time put any plans of a comeback to a halt.

An EFL cup visit at Anfield was the next task for Lopetegui’s men, a Jarell Quansah own goal after 21 minutes hinted at a cup upset. West Ham’s possibility of an upset didn’t last long, as Diogo Jota scored to equalise four minutes later. Jota doubled his tally after 49 minutes, with Salah and Gakpo adding three more goals to win 5-1.

A 1-1 draw would follow away to Brentford, with Bryan Mbuemo scoring after just one minute to stun the Hammers with their fast-paced start. Soucek later equalised in the 54th minute to share the points. Newly promoted Ipswich would make a trip to the London Stadium, where West Ham were looking to gain vital points. Goals from Michail Antonio, Mohammed Kudus, Jarrod Bowen & Lucas Paqueta would seal a 4-1 for the Hammers.

Unfortunately, The Hammers couldn’t continue the form they showed against Ipswich and suffered another heavy defeat in their trip to the Tottenham Hotspur stadium, even after taking the lead just 18 minutes in. To make matters worse, Mohammed Kudus was sent off for violent conduct and will now miss the next three games.

Manchester United Form Guide

In United’s last five games, a devastating home loss to Spurs would sum up the issues around the Red Devils, Brennan Johnson would put the visitors 0-1 after just three minutes with captain Bruno Fernandes being sent off just before half time to compound a miserable first half. Second half goals from Dejan Kulusevski and Dominic Solanke would round up a terrible day at Old Trafford.

An away trip to Porto would later proceed for United the following Thursday where Erik ten Hag’s side took a 2-0 lead after just 20 minutes, showing the form of the United that we have come to know. However, return to normality resumed with Porto grabbing two goals in seven minutes.

Porto would eventually come back from 0-2 down to lead 3-2 after the 50th minute through goals from Samu Omorodion. While defeat looked like a certainty, an unlikely hero in the form of Harry Maguire would rescue a point for United when they equalised in the 91st minute to share the points.

Before the International break United would travel to Villa Park in what would be a dull affair but a vital point for the Red Devils against Champions League counterparts Aston Villa. On return to club football after the international break, Man United went into disrepute after Ethan Pinnock headed Brentford into the lead at Old Trafford, with a bloodied Matthijs de Ligt off the pitch receiving treatment at the time of the goal.

However, Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Hojlund would claw a turnaround for Ten Hag, delivering a promising second half performance. Man Utd would hold on for a 1-1 draw in Istanbul on Thursday in the Europa League & would remain winless so far in the Competition.

United would take the lead against former Red Devils manager José Mourinho through a Christian Eriksen strike in the first half. However, Youssef En-Nesyri equalised for the hosts just after break, with Mourinho seeing red for protests after Fenerbahçe were denied a penalty.

West Ham v Manchester United Preview & Prediction

With poor starts to the season and two managers under immense pressure, this game almost feels like a must win for both Lopetegui & Erik ten Hag, but who will prevail?

West Ham come into this game amidst a very poor run of form having won only one of their last seven games, the most recent of which was a 4-1 defeat away at Tottenham. The Hammers find themselves struggling in 15th place in the Premier League after a sluggish start to the season, while Manchester United isn’t faring much better in 12th.

The Hammers’ sole home win this season came against relegation battlers Ipswich Town, where they delivered a convincing 4-1 defeat to Kieran McKenna’s team. However, with Mohammed Kudus’s outburst in West Ham’s last game against Tottenham Hotspur, in which he was rightfully sent off for lashing out at more than one Tottenham player, West Ham will suffer without his scoring ability.

Sitting just three points ahead of the Hammers, The Red Devils opted to support manager Erik ten Hag over the summer, a choice that hasn’t appeared to yield positive results recently. Man United’s form isn’t brilliant.

Last weekend’s comeback victory against Brentford is the only win Manchester United can celebrate in their last seven matches, with The Premier League table looking bleak for Sunday’s visitors, who sit in a lacklustre 12th place, six points adrift of the top four.

However, the away statistics are somewhat encouraging for Manchester United, who remain unbeaten in their last five matches on the road. While they have drawn their last four, they’ve managed to secure three consecutive Premier League clean sheets away from home against Southampton, Aston Villa, and Crystal Palace.

To add onto West Ham’s misery, The Red Devils have a strong head-to-head record against West Ham winning four of the last seven meetings with both teams scoring in four of West Ham’s last five games and three of Man United’s last five, so we expect both sides to find the back of the net.
