Friday night sees us diving back into league football. Our football tipster, Paddy Murphy, has gone in search of value punts from the Serie A, the Bundesliga, Ligue Un, La Liga, and the Championship fixtures.

With this being a five-fold Acca, too, Paddy’s footy acca betting offer kicks in, and we’ll get our stake back if just one leg lets us down.

Let’s get right into it.

Friday’s Footy Acca tips

7:30pm Mainz v Borussia Monchengladbach – Both teams to score, yes
7:45pm Rennes v Le Harve – Rennes to win
7:45pm Torino v Como – Both teams to score, yes
8pm Portsmouth v Sheffield Wednesday – Draw
8pm Espanyol v Sevilla – Both teams to score, yes

Mainz v Borussia Monchengladbach – Both teams to score, yes

Bundesliga match at the Mewa Arena, Mainz
TV: Sky Sports Mix, 7:30pm

Mainz are one of those rare unicorn-like teams that occurs in Europe once a season. They’re terrible at home and rather good on their travels. They’ve only collected one point from a possible 12 at home in the Bundesliga this season, while away from home have taken seven from a possible nine.

‘Gladbach have only won three times this season in seven league games. Of their three away league games this term, they have won one and lost two, scoring three goals while conceding four.

Mainz have only scored twice at home this season and conceded at least two in three of their four games. We can’t see too many goals being scored here but both are conceding plenty of late, Both Teams to Score will get us started here.

Rennes v Le Harve – Rennes to win

Ligue Un match at Roazhon Park, Rennes
TV: Ligue 1 Pass, 7:45pm

With just four games between them over their combined 16 Ligue Un games so far, things are obviously not going well for either side this season. Rennes’ home form of two wins, one draw, and a loss against Le Harve’s one win and three losses over their respective four away games means you’d have to side with the hosts here.

Torino v Como – Both teams to score, yes

Serie A match at the Stadio Olimpico, Torino
TV: OneFootball, 7:45pm

Torino’s early-season blooming seems well and truly wilted by now. Turin’s third-best team, behind Juventus and Juventus’ reserves, of course, took 11 points from their opening five games but, over their last four in all competitions, have failed to win any of them.

Their home Serie A form has seen them win one, draw one, and lose one so far this season, scoring four and conceding four.

For Como, it’s the reverse. They began the season with two losses and two draws and have won two, drawn one, and lost one since. They’ve won one, drawn one, and lost three on their league excursions, scoring five and conceding 10. Based on the goal stats, both teams should be scoring here.

Portsmouth v Sheffield Wednesday – Draw

Championship match at Fratton Park
TV: Sky Sports Main Event/Football, 8pm

Currently sitting at the bottom of the Championship pile, Portsmouth welcome Sheffield Wednesday to Fratton Park in desperate need of a win. The hosts have won one, drawn two, and lost two over their last five league fixtures. On home soil, they have drawn three and lost two, scoring two goals while conceding seven.

Wednesday have won two, drawn two, and lost one over their last five in the league, while away from home have won one, drawn one, and lost three, scoring three and conceding 10. With such a lack of goals for both sides, it’s tough to see either winning. This one looks like a 0-0, or 1-1, we’re backing things to end all square.

Espanyol v Sevilla – Both teams to score, yes

La Liga match at the RCDC Stadium, Cornella de Llobregat,
TV: Premier Sports, LaLigaTV, 8pm

Sevilla come into this one as favourites, largely thanks to Espanyol’s recent La Liga results. The hosts have won just one of their last five in the league, losing the other four, scoring five and conceding an eye-watering 12.

However, on home soil, they’ve been quite strong since returning to the top tier, winning three and losing two, scoring eight, and conceding seven.

Sevilla have won two, drawn one, and lost two of their last five league fixtures, scoring six and conceding nine. Away from home, however, they’ve been pretty poor, drawing three and losing two, scoring five and conceding 10.

It’s also worth noting that the hosts have failed to keep a single clean sheet at home, and the away side have scored in all but one. While the stats would indicate Espanyol should be taking the points here, that recent loss of overall form is stopping us from pulling that trigger. Both teams getting on the scoresheet makes better sense.
