Football Tips: Our sizzling 6/1 shots on target treble for Sunday’s European games

A shots on target shout for Sunday's games across the continent.

If Sunday’s daytime fixtures don’t wear you out, there is plenty of European action in the evening to satisfy your appetite for club football. Some of the continent’s football powerhouses are facing off across Italy, Spain, and France, and we’ve got you covered.

Our tipster, Tom Desborough, guides us through games from Serie ALa Liga, and Ligue 1, with a treble that will hopefully live up to the hype and pay. The action kicks off at 7:45 p.m.

Montpellier v Marseille – Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg to have 1+ shots on target

Roma v Inter Milan – Hakan Calhanoglu to have 1+ shots on target

TV: TNT Sports 1

We begin with a corker of a match-up in Serie A as Simeone Inzaghi’s Inter head to the capital to take on Ivan Juric’s Roma. Before the international break, the visiting champions suffered their first defeat, falling 2-1 away at Fiorentina. They will be looking to get back to winning ways on Sunday.

Inter’s resident set-piece specialist, Hakan Calhanoglu, has found the target four times in six games, averaging 0.97 shots per game and 0.73 on target. He has scored once this season from the penalty spot.

In a game that could be foul-heavy, expect the Turkish international to get the opportunity to unleash a shot on goal, and he is available at a great price.

Barcelona v Sevilla – Dodi Lukebakio to have 1+ shots on target

TV: ITV4

Barcelona have enjoyed a solid start to the 2024/25 season, sitting top of La Liga with eight wins in nine games. Hansi Flick will be satisfied with his team’s performances in the league, as they are three points clear of Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid.

Life has not been as rosy for Sevilla this term. Garcia Pimienta’s side are 12th, having won three games from nine. They will find it challenging at the league leaders on Sunday, losing to nil on their last three visits.

However, they have one man who could change that in Dodi Lukebakio. The Belgian international leads the number of shots on target for Sevilla with 11 in nine games. If the visitors can lay a glove on Iñaki Peña Sotorres’ goal, it will be via their right winger.

Montpellier v Marseille – Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg to have 1+ shots on target

Roberto De Zerbi has mostly enjoyed his time in France since his move from Brighton in the summer, overseeing four wins in seven Ligue 1 games, putting Marseille third in the table. They’re second in the league for goals scored, finding the back of the net 14 times.

It has been the complete opposite for Montpellier this season, as Michel Der Zekarian’s side are second from bottom after winning just one game. They have failed to keep a clean sheet this season, conceding 21 goals.

With both sides’ records, I expect the visitors to have plenty of chances, and I fancy a long shot shout at a shot on target through Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg. The former Tottenham midfielder has been a regular in De Zerbi’s side and averages one shot per game, finding the target twice this season. He also found the back of the net for Denmark in August.
