Andy Robson's Bet Builder - Liverpool v Chelsea

Hooray! The Premier League rolls back into town this weekend after the October international break as Liverpool host Chelsea on Sunday afternoon.

As the day job returns across a bumper weekend of action, Twitter’s top tipster Andy Robson dives into the stats and form for both sides to find five value picks for his Bet Builder as the Blues head to Merseyside.

The international window has meant recharging Andy’s batteries, so let’s get his thoughts on this contest. Here are his Liverpool v Chelsea betting tips.

One more thing to add: two of Andy’s player picks fall under Paddy’s Super Sub promotion, meaning the bet carries over to his replacement if he is replaced.

Liverpool to win

Liverpool have been highly impressive since Arne Slot arrived at the club this summer and should continue that form as they welcome Chelsea to Anfield.

The Reds have won nine of their ten matches across all competitions so far this season and have typically looked impressive as they have done so. Indeed, they have scored at least two goals on eight occasions while keeping six clean sheets.

Chelsea, meanwhile, may be in hot form in front of goal lately, but they have equally conceded a couple of goals in five of the 11 matches they have played. This greater fragility is likely to be the difference between the two giants in what should be an entertaining clash.

Mohamed Salah to have 1+ shots on target

Mohamed Salah continues to produce the goods offensively for Liverpool at 32 years old and remains particularly impressive due to his sheer consistency. He has not played a single game for the Reds this season and failed to hit the target with at least one shot, having multiple in six out of nine starts.

Given a special leave of absence from Egypt’s second international against Mauritania earlier this week due to concerns over the artificial pitch on which the match took place, he’s had nine days without a game and should have bags of energy to torment his former club.

Dominik Szoboszlai to commit 1+ foul

Just as Salah is a consistent force for the Reds when getting shots away, so is Dominik Szoboszlai committing fouls. The Hungary international has only gone one match this season in which he has not given away a free-kick – the Champions League victory at Milan.

Meanwhile, the former RB Leipzig star has consistently given up a single foul per game in the Premier League, doing so in five of his last six outings. In the other, he committed three against Nottingham Forest.

In what is sure to be a competitive midfield battle, it’s hard to see the 23-year-old failing to continue this trend.

Noni Maduke to have 2+ shots

Chelsea are not being underestimated as an attacking force going into this match. Still, while Cole Palmer is naturally getting much of the attention, Noni Madueke is quietly slipping under the radar.

The winger has four Premier League goals this season, one behind Palmer when excluding penalties. But he has a higher shots per 90 tally, with 4.15, compared to the former Manchester City player’s 3.48.

Madueke has had at least two shots in six of his seven starts for Chelsea this season. Having played just 63 minutes for England over the international break, he is set for a big role on Sunday.

Cole Palmer to be fouled 2+ times

No Chelsea player has won more fouls in the Premier League this season than Cole Palmer, mainly due to a knack of winning free-kicks for his side in recent matches.

Palmer has won 13 fouls in his last four outings in England’s top-flight, with each of these games very different from Chelsea’s perspective. They dominated the ball against Bournemouth and Nottingham Forest, but against Brighton, they had just 41% of possession. They also had under half the ball against West Ham, a game in which he won five fouls.

Meanwhile, Liverpool’s highest foul makers are Ryan Gravenberch, Alexis Mac Allister, and Szoboszlai, all of whom are likely to operate in an area similar to the England man’s.
