Paddy's tipster Peter Sharland fancies the goals to rain down in Wednesday's WCL action.

UEFA Women's Champions League Bet Builder

Women’s football tipster, Peter Sharland, has found four value picks from Wednesday night’s Champions League action.

He’s got three matches included in these predictions, featuring Juventus, Bayern Munich, Arsenal & Man City, so let’s get straight to it…

Women’s Champions League tips

5:45pm – Juventus v Bayern Munich – Both teams to score no draw
5:45pm – St Polten v Man City – Man City (-3)
8pm – Arsenal v Valerenga – Arsenal (-2) and Over 4.5 goals

Juventus v Bayern – Both teams to score no draw

TV: DAZN, 5:45pm

Anyone who only watched Bayern’s 5-2 hammering of Arsenal last week – and nothing else – might be surprised to see the odds so tight for this match, but make no mistake, this is a heavyweight clash.

Juventus have shown how serious they are this season at home and in Europe. Early in the campaign, they made the watching world sit up and take notice by taking out French giants PSG in the Champions League qualifying round, whilst domestically they are yet to drop points.

That includes last weekend’s 2-1 win over defending champions Roma, who won the league last season 11 points ahead of Juve. This Juventus team isn’t messing around.

Contrastingly last weekend exposed the flaws in this Bayern Munich side, as the German champion’s perfect start to the season came undone at arch-rivals Wolfsburg who claimed a 2-0 win. It feels inevitable one of these teams is going to win 2-1 in a cagey game, we just can’t tell which, hence the BTTS no draw.

St Polten v Man City – Man City (-3)

TV: DAZN, 5:45pm

Man City are flying high at the moment, they took out defending European champions Barcelona in last week’s opening round of games and they showed that stereotypical “champions spirit” as they dug deep to beat Liverpool 2-1 at the weekend in the final moments.

For Gareth Taylor’s team this week’s trip to Austria to face St. Polten might be considered a potential slip-up but, if anything, we feel it is the time for the team to finally let loose in terms of goals. They threatened it against Brighton (where they somehow only scored one goal) and frankly they could have had a couple more against Barcelona. City are ready go big here to continue their fine early season form.

Arsenal v Valerenga – Arsenal (-2) and Over 4.5 goals

Champions League match at the Emirates Stadium, London
TV: TNT Sports, DAZN, 8pm

What Arsenal are we going to get? It’s hard to know. Will it be the almost non-existent performance in the second half against Bayern or the first half against Chelsea? Or will it be the team from the second half against the Blues that could have, and probably should have, won the game?

We’re choosing to believe in that second half showing with the old favourite “new manager bounce” or in this case “interim manager bounce”. It just feels clear that for so long (probably dating back to points last season), Arsenal under Jonas Eidevall were stuck in a cycle of uninspiring football, that led to what we saw in the past few weeks.

Now with Eidevall gone it’s hard not to imagine this extremely talented group of players letting loose with a cathartic performance that both they and their fans desperately need. Valerenga are no slouches, and are a strong team defensively, but it’s hard to look past Arsenal finally blowing away the cobwebs that have held them back for far too long.
