Monday night’s Nations League action sees Belgium facing France and Germany hosting Netherlands in what should be some hotly-tempered derbies. Ukraine host the Czech Republic in Poland, Italy entertain Israel, and Wales should take three points from their match with Montenegro.
Our football tipster Paddy Murphy has gone in search of value punts in the above fixtures and put them into a tasty-looking Acca.
With this being a five-fold Acca, too, Paddy’s footy acca betting offer kicks in, and we’ll get our stake back if just one leg lets us down.
Let’s get into it.

Belgium v France – Both teams to score & over 2.5 goals
Nations League match at the Stade Roi Baudouin, Brussels
TV: Viaplay, 7:45pm
International football rivalries are good fun. Belgium fans would be happy to lose all other games for the next year if it meant beating France. France doesn’t really put much pass on Belgium, except for the people living at the border. Germany and England are their rivals. Then again, most countries don’t exactly look favorably at the English football team.
Regardless, the hosts will be up for this, especially since they lost the reverse fixture 2-0 in Lyon. However, they clawed back from 2-0 down away to Italy and rescued a draw. The Belgians are quite strong on home soil and haven’t lost a home game since June 2022.
France smashed Israel 1-4 on Thursday and, as mentioned, already beat Belgium 2-0 not so long ago. You’d have to expect both teams to get on the scoresheet here, and both most certainly have the firepower to get at least one more.
Italy v Israel – Italy to win to nil
Nations League match at the Bluenergy Stadium, Udineses
TV: Viaplay, 7:45pm
Italy look like a team on a mission again. Since their power showing at the Euros over the summer, Luciano Spalletti’s side have won two and drawn one, breathing France, Israel, although they did throw away a 2-0 lead at home to Belgium on Thursday.
Israel have won three games in their last eleven: two against Belarus and one against Andorra. They’ll hardly get a sniff in Udinese, but Italy should take the three points without conceding.
Germany v Netherlands – Both teams to score & over 2.5 goals
Nations League match at thee Stade Roi Baudouin, Brussels
TV: Viaplay, 7:45pm
Here’s a proper rivalry to get stuck into. While in geopolitical terms, Germany and the Netherlands are all mates now, footballing-wise, these sides do not like each other—never have and never will—which is great for us neutrals.
Seven of their last eight meetings have seen at least three goals scored, with the other ending 1-1. Of the last five played in Germany, four have seen at least three goals scored, with Germany winning two, two ending level, and the Dutch winning one.
The hosts have a strong record of clean sheets on German soil but have conceded in both of their Nations League games thus far. The Dutch have only failed to score in one of their last 22 games. Goals are on the Monday night menu here.
Ukraine v Czech Republic – Both teams to score
Nations League match at the Tarczynski Arena, Wroclaw
TV: Viaplay, 7:45pm
Ukraine beat Georgia on Friday night but had lost both of their opening Nations League games to Albania and to the Czech Republic in the reverse fixture.
The Czechs have won two and lost one so far. Interestingly, the crowd should be a big factor here. Of course, Poland has housed quite a number of Ukrainians since the war began, but Wroclaw is a short drive to Czech, and there will certainly be many travelling fans.
It’s tough to pick a winner here, but both sides have scored four and six goals, respectively, over their last three games, so they should be getting on the scoresheet.
Wales v Montenegro – Wales to win
Nations League match at thee Stade Roi Baudouin, Brussels
TV: S4C, BBC iPlayer, Viaplay, 7:45pm
Wales surrendered a 0-2 lead away to Iceland on Friday night, ending up with just a point at full-time. They’re not in great shape, winning just one of their last five fixtures, drawing three and losing one. Their home form is better, though, with two wins and three draws, losing one of those on penalties.
Montenegro have lost all five of their most recent matches and, on the road, have won one against whipping boys Belarus and lost four, scoring just three goals while conceding eight. We’ll be having some of Wales to win here.
