5:45pm: Bayern Munich v Arsenal
TV: DAZN
Under 2.5 goals
Arsenal kickoff their UEFA Women’s Champions League campaign with a tough trip to Bayern Munich on Wednesday night. The Gunners have enjoyed a solid start to the Super League season with a win and two draws from their opening three games.
Their last two outings have featured a grand combined total of just one goal scored and they will be hopeful of keeping this game very tight.
Bayern Munich have been ruthless in front of goal in their own domestic season start, but Arsenal represent a step up in level, and the Bavarians may have to lower their goal scoring ambitions against an away side who have kept successive clean sheets.
Double Chance: Arsenal / Draw
Bayern Munich are favourites heading into this clash, but it’s difficult to take too much from their domestic form, with previous European exploits giving a more accurate picture.
They only won one of six group games in the Champions League last season, and this will be a test of how much they have developed over the summer, and Arsenal will be a tricky customer for Alexander Straus’ hosts.
Arsenal are unbeaten so far this season, and if they can head back to London with at least a point, that will be a real positive for Jonas Eidevall.
8:00pm: Manchester City v Barcelona
TV: DAZN and TNT Sports 1
Barcelona to win and over 3.5 goals
If goals are potentially hard to come by in Bavaria, they could rain down in Manchester, in tribute to a Mancunian downpour.
Barcelona remain the benchmark in this competition, with three title wins from the last four, as they look to defend their crown in 2025.
City are currently top of the Super League, with seven points from three games, but Barcelona still look to be the team to beat across Europe this season with five domestic wins already in the bag.
23 goals from those victories underlines the hot streak they are on, with four of those five wins featuring over 3.5 goals scored. City could be in for a battle with summer signing Ewa Pajor already netting six goals as an addition to Barcelona’s all-star attack.
