Football Accumulator Tips: Tuesday night’s 16/1 EFL Trophy Punt

We're all over Tuesday's football with a value Acca.

EFL Acca Tips

The international break is here but never fear, we’ve found some domestic football get stuck into. That’s right, Tuesday night sees the return of the one and only EFL Trophy with some big names involved. Honest!

Our tipster Paddy Murphy has gone in search of value punts and picked out five of the best.

With this being a five-fold Acca too, Paddy’s footy acca betting offer kicks in and we’ll get our stake back if just one leg lets us down.

Let’s get straight into it.

Tuesday’s Footy Acca tips

*All games kickoff at 19:00

Carlisle v Wigan – Under 2.5 goals
Notts County v Northampton – Both teams to score, yes
Peterborough v Stevenage – Peterborough to win
Tranmere v Accrington – Tranmere to win
Huddersfield v Barnsley – Both teams to score, yes

Carlisle v Wigan – Under 2.5 goals

EFL Trophy match at Brunton Park, Carlisle
TV: Sky Sports+

League Two side Carlisle entertain League One outfit Wigan here, but the hosts won’t be relishing the chance of taking a scalp as they’ve won just one of their last five matches and have only won one of their last six at Brunton Park.

Indeed, they’ve lost all five of their most recent home games, scoring six and conceding 12.

Wigan have also won just one of their last five fixtures, drawing all of the other four games. Away from home, they’ve won one, drawn two, and lost two, scoring five and conceding four. With both sides struggling for goals, we’re backing under 2.5 goals.

Notts County v Northampton – Both teams to score, yes

EFL Trophy match at Meadow Lane, Nottingham
TV: Sky Sports+

Another League Two v League One game here. The home side have won two, drawn one and lost two of their last five, sharing the same results on home soil, scoring eight and conceding five.

Northampton have won one and lost four of their last five while on their travels, have won one, drawn one, and lost two of their four away games this term. Certainly, the away side have the worse record, but they’ve scored in six of their last eight games, and the hosts have conceded in all but one of their home games this season, so backing both teams to score has the value here.

Peterborough v Stevenage – Peterborough to win

EFL Trophy match at the Weston Homes Stadium, Peterborough
TV: Sky Sports+

It’s an all-League One affair here, with 14th taking on 12th. Peterborough have won two, drawn one, and lost two of their last five matches, sharing the same results at home, scoring six and conceding eight.

Steveage have also won two, drawn one, and lost two over their last five, however, on the road they’ve been rather poor, drawing two and losing three of their last five, scoring just two goals. This one should be a home win.

Tranmere v Accrington – Tranmere to win

EFL Trophy match at Prenton Park, Birkenhead
TV: Sky Sports+

Here we’ve got an all-League Two matchup with 17th hosting 23rd. As those league positions would suggest, neither side are in the best of shape. Tranmere have drawn three and lost two of their last five but at home have won two, drawn two, and lost one.

Accrington have won one, drawn one, and lost three of their last five. On the road, they have lost all five of their away games this season, scoring just three goals while conceding an eye-watering 14. Tranmere should be grabbing the win here.

Huddersfield v Barnsley – Both teams to score, yes

EFL Trophy match at the John Smith’s Stadium, Huddersfield
TV: Sky Sports+

Another all League One matchup here as Huddersfield host Barnsley, a repeat of a League meeting between the sides on Saturday last, where the home side won 2-0.

The Terriers aren’t in good form at all, they’ve won just one of their last five, losing the other four but things are far better on home soil, where they’ve won three and lost two, scoring six and conceding six as well.

Barnsley have won one of their last five, drawn two, and lost two. On the road, they’ve won two and lost three, scoring five and conceding 13, seven of which came in that League Cup match against Man United at Old Trafford.

It’s hard to see the hosts keeping another clean sheet, that one at the weekend was only their second over their last 10 matches, and it was Barnsley’s fist loss since that Old Trafford demolition. Both teams to score is the play.

Notts County v Northampton – Both teams to score, yes
Peterborough v Stevenage – Peterborough to win
Tranmere v Accrington – Tranmere to win
