We’ve all been there: the side-eye glances from strangers in pubs as we wildly cheer a 94th minute hacking down that lands our bet. We can now experience that elation at even bigger odds thanks to Paddy’s new ‘Player Fouls Matchups’ market.
I’ll be picking out 3 selections that hold some value this weekend in the Premier League in this very market at backable prices as singles and attempting to land the big one as we combine all 3 selections into a lovely looking longshot.

Diaz to commit 1+ fouls on Munoz
What better way to start than the early kick-off on Saturday morning and the battle between two international team-mates? Luis Diaz has always been on the petulant side and he’s no stranger to a foul having averaged 1.4 fouls per game across his career for club and Colombia.
Under Arne Slot this season however, his defensive workload has drastically increased as the Dutchman’s system relies heavily on engaging an aggressive press on the opposition as soon as the ball is sent out wide to full backs. This has seen Diaz commit at least 1 foul in all but 1 of his appearances this season at an average of 1.88 fouls per 90 minutes.
His direct opponent will be marauding wing back Daniel Munoz whose threat on the counter should draw plenty of attention from Diaz. With Munoz tasked with providing all of the width down the right-hand side for the Eagles, if Diaz is to make his customary foul, it should be on him.
Doucoure to commit 1+fouls on Guimaraes
Our next selection book ends your Saturday viewing as we head to Goodison Park where Newcastle make the trip to Everton. In what is sure to be a hotly contested affair in the middle of the park, we’re backing Abdoulaye Doucoure to fell Bruno Guimaraes.
Guimaraes is the Premier League’s most fouled player having been fouled 24 times in just 6 games, drawing at least 3 fouls in 5 of those. He’s been fouled 13 times in 5 head to heads against Everton at an average of 2.59 times per 90 minutes and so it’s clear that they have to resort to bringing the Brazilian down to stop him.
His opponent in that midfield battleground will be Doucoure and he’s a man who has committed 3 fouls in both of his last 2 games to follow on from his 1.79 per 90 average last season. We’ve got a midfielder who is an absolute foul magnet up against a player who’s clumsy at best in the tackle and so to be getting above evens about the combination feels like great value.
Johnson to commit 1+ fouls on Estupinan
While the previous two selections look excellent value, if we’re to land a big odds treble we need a longer odds selection to do the heavy lifting and the responsibility for that falls to Spurs winger Brennan Johnson.
Johnson has committed at least 1 foul in all 6 of Spurs’ Premier League fixtures this season at an average of 1.5 per game and has committed 2 in half of those games. With Heung-Min Son still out through injury, Brennan’s minutes have also increased and so we can expect him to play the majority of this game and so plenty of time for him to foul his opposing full back.
Ecuadorian Pervis Estupinan is that opposition left back and he’s been fouled in 2 of his 3 games this season since returning from injury. He’s also drawn 4 fouls across his last 3 games against Tottenham and with Postecoglou employing a high intensity press, a lazy leg from Brennan on Estupinan as Brighton employ their patient build up feels much more likely than the odds suggest. Opposition right wingers against Brighton have combined for 8 fouls this season and with Johnson’s penchant for fouls himself, this feels like a lovely angle.
