The final Premier League fixture of the weekend sees Ange Postecoglu’s Tottenham travelling to the Amex to take on Fabian Hurzeler’s Brighton.

The Premier League action this weekend concludes with Brighton versus Tottenham, two teams who start in midtable in week seven but with aspirations to finish much higher.
Neither side has shown too much against half-decent teams so far this season. The Seagulls’ only victories have come against the dross of Everton and Manchester United, while Spurs have lost to both teams they’ve faced who start the weekend above 12th in the table.
Could they cancel each other out in a draw, then? History suggests that only one of the 14 Premier League meetings has ended all square. There should be a winner, even if it’s not easy to call who that will be. Here are five best bets to chew over before the Super Sunday match.
Over 3.5 goals
Since the Australian moved to the Premier League, Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham have been the great entertainers. It’s just the way they play, mate.
Thirty-three of their 44 league matches have featured at least three goals, the most of any side. Their clashes with Brighton last season were two such games, with Spurs avenging a 4-2 defeat at the Amex with a 2-1 victory on home turf.
If we ignore Manchester City (which would undoubtedly make life more interesting), these sides have had the highest defensive back lines in the division this season. With that much space available, there should be Over 3.5 Goals.
Dejan Kulusevski to score or assist
Dejan Kulusevski and Dominic Solanke were on the score sheet against United last weekend. Yet both should have contributed more already this season.
The Swede created a ridiculously high nine chances versus the Red Devils. The fact he didn’t get an assist was largely down to Timo Werner’s finishing, but such is life when he’s on your side.
As for Solanke, despite scoring in the last two league matches (as well as against Qarabag in Europe), he is still underperforming against his expected goals. Going into this weekend, only two players are further behind their Premier League non-penalty xG in 2024/25.
Both were primarily rested on Thursday night, so they should be okay for Sunday. The odds are better for Kulusevski, so take him To Score Or Assist. Hopefully, a chance from him falls to Dom rather than Timo.
Over 11.5 corners
This match will feature corners galore. Tottenham and Brighton are the top two in the 2024/25 Premier League for crosses, with deliveries of that nature leading to deflections and clearances going behind the goal line.
This has been particularly prevalent for Spurs. Their matches have averaged 14.2 corners when the league average is 10.5, with every game aside from their stroll at Old Trafford seeing a minimum of 13.
As Brighton’s games haven’t seen quite so many, there’s no need to go mad. A bet on Over 11.5 Corners should see you pick a winner.
Over 4.5 cards
We can also expect to see plenty of cards in this match. The last six clashes between these teams have averaged 4.5 bookings, with five or more on three occasions.
The high defensive lines will play into this, too, as there will likely be counter-attacking players who need to be taken down. We also have two teams who have averaged at least 4.8 cards per match this season, overseen by David Coote, an official who loves to book players.
He has shown six cards per Premier League game this season, with eight the last time he refereed Brighton and five when he previously had Tottenham. Over 4.5 cards looks like a solid place to start, though more, which brings a better price, should not be ruled out.
Rodrigo Bentacur to be shown a card
With cards flying around, we’d better see who might get one.
Nine bookings were handed out in the two meetings between these teams last season. Facundo Buonanotte collected two of them, but he’s currently on loan with Leicester, so he’s useless here.
Lewis Dunk, another two-card man from those games, should be, though. He has also been booked in the last two games, so he is in form for ticking off referees.
On the Tottenham side, Rodrigo Bentancur is always a good bet in this market. He has already collected three yellows and made just five fouls. When he goes, he goes large.
As Brighton have seen more opponents booked than Spurs, so let’s take Bentancur to be Shown a Card.
