Paddy Power pundit Joe Cole is fresh off a tidy 9/1 correct score shout in Bournemouth v Southampton on Monday and while most would put their feet up, the former Premier League man is back for more in the Champions League on Wednesday.
Aston Villa play their first ever home Champions League game as they host Bayern Munich, while Liverpool face Serie A opposition again in Bologna.
Joe has a couple of player picks in here too, so Paddy’s Super Sub promotion will kick in if they’re replaced during the match and the bet will carry over to their replacements.

Aston Villa v Bayern Munich

WHERE: Villa Park, Birmingham

Aston Villa v Bayern Munich is the tie of the group stage. Villa Park will be buzzing and this is what all of the hard work is for – and I’m expecting them to perform.
Bayern played out a 1-1 draw with Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga over the weekend. That was their first real test of the season and they couldn’t get the job done which will be a concern.
They face another test at Villa Park and I fancy Aston Villa to win. They can hit teams on the counter with Morgan Rodgers and Ollie Watkins. Bayern will probably have more of the ball but Villa’s attacking players could do the most damage.
I have to side with Both teams to score as Bayern have too much strength in depth to blank in the Midlands on Wednesday night.
Watkins to score is my final pick. He netted for England at the Euros in the summer and he’s played in big games and impressed in crucial moments. I’m expecting him to shine on the big stage once again.

Liverpool v Bologna
WHEN: Wednesday, 2nd October, 8pm
WHERE: Anfield, Liverpool
TV: TNT Sports
I really fancy Liverpool to win on Wednesday night. They should do so comfortably as well. The slip up at home in the Premier League against Nottingham Forest was a surprise but they’ve been brilliant apart from that.
Bologna did great to get into the Champions League but they have lost a lot of players and their manager Thiago Motta joined Juventus.
I’m expecting a comfortable Liverpool win so I’m backing them on the -1 handicap, meaning we need them to win by two or more at Anfield.
Both teams to score and Mohamed Salah to score round off my bets. The Reds have conceded in four of their last five games in all competitions and Salah to find the back of the net is an obvious pick.
He’s already scored four times in six Premier League appearances this season and he’ll want to get on the scoresheet in the Champions League.
