Arsenal to win
The Gunners come into this on a high. Their win over Leicester now puts them within one point of a Rodri-less Man City in the Premier, and their fans are beginning to believe it’s their time. They’ve got a Champions League matchup to navigate here, but PSG’s injury list is even worse than that of the home side.
PSG are without Goncalo Romos, Lucas Hernandez, Presnel Kimpembe, Marco Asensio, and Desire Doue, plus doubts about Gianluigi Donnarumma, Nuno Mendes, and Vitinha. Although PSG still have quality, they’re without several starters and conceded in their last four domestic games.
Bukayo Saka to score or assist
Arsenal wideman Bukayo Saka keeps getting better and better. This season, he already has a goal and five assists in the league. With Mendes a doubt for PSG, Saka might have a favourable battle on the left flank.
Saka has played just five games at the Emirates in the Champions League but has contributed seven goals. He comes alight in this competition, and in front of his home fans, against a weakened rival, he should be back to his brilliant best.
Bradley Barcola to have 1+ shots on target
When Kylian Mbappe left PSG, there were doubts about how the Parisians could replace their talismanic star. They needn’t have worried with the left wing now owned by Bradley Barcola. It would be unfair to say that Barcola is at Mbappe’s level yet, but he’s been playing exceptionally well in this campaign.
He’s scored six in six in Ligue 1. He will take on an even more pivotal role in this team, with Ramos out injured and Randal Kolo Muani putting up a wasteful showing against Girona in their last Champions League game.
Warren Zaire-Emery to commit 1+ fouls
The other youngster tearing it up in Paris is Warren Zaire-Emery, with the 18-year-old having a solid season as he establishes himself for club and country. The Frenchman is averaging 1.2 fouls committed per game in the league, the highest of any player to start two or more games, and he gave up a foul in the team’s last Champions League game, too.
He now faces a tough midfield battle against Declan Rice and Thomas Partey and will have to drop deep to break up Arsenal’s attacks. Given the quality he’ll be up against, he will likely continue his season average and give up at least one foul.
Warren Zaire-Emery to be fouled 1+ times
We’re also taking Zaire-Emery to get fouled and give one away. He’s one of the key players in the PSG team in keeping possession and the ball moving, averaging 60+ passes per game. He has one goal to his name domestically and showed his importance to the team by playing three key passes against Girona last time in the UCL.
He’s been fouled an average of 1.4 times per game this game, leading the team in all players to start two or more games. For Arsenal to get control of this match, they will need to ensure that Zaire-Emery can’t get his game going, so expect to see him taken out if he gets the ball in any threatening positions.
