Let’s get stuck into his Wolves v Liverpool betting tips.

Wolves v Liverpool Bet Builder tips

Mohamed Salah anytime goalscorer
Luis Diaz to have 1+ shots on target
Andre to be shown a card
Mario Lemina to commit 1+ fouls
Matheus Cunha to be fouled 1+ time

WHEN: Saturday 28th of September, 17:30
WHERE:  Molineux Stadium, Wolverhampton
TV: Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League

These are worrying times for Wolverhampton Wanderers supporters. The club is joint-bottom of the table and could be propping up the rest by the time this match gets underway at 17:30 on Saturday.

For that to happen, Everton would need to get something so they’re probably safe for now. Even so, a visit from Liverpool is not the best fixture when searching for your first Premier League win of 2024/25.

Wolves have only won one of their last 15 games, going back to last season, a run that included a 2-0 loss at Anfield. The Reds have also won five of the last six league clashes at Molineux.

With Liverpool likely to claim the points, what player props should we go for? Every selection here is included in Paddy Power’s Super Sub offer. If you back a starter and he is withdrawn, your bet passes to the player who replaces him. You’re in play for the full 90 minutes, baby.

It’s easy to laugh at Everton, twice losing games in which they led 2-0, but Wolves have an identical record, even down to goals scored (five) and conceded (14). The forwards Arne Slot selects will be licking their lips.

After all, they all scored or assisted in their first start under their new boss apart from Luis Díaz, and he’s the league’s top scorer who isn’t Erling Haaland. The Liverpool attack is purring.

Mohamed Salah anytime goalscorer

Despite not scoring in this fixture since 2018/19, Mohamed Salah is a great choice in the goal-scorer markets. He netted in the first three games of the campaign but failed to score in the three that followed.

However, the Egyptian had 12 shots with seven on target in the latter matches and then scored in a cameo against West Ham midweek. Salah looks set to be an anytime goal scorer against a porous Wolves defence.

Luis Diaz to have 1+ shots on target

Liverpool’s veteran forward is also the top man who isn’t Erling Haaland (do you sense a theme?) for shots on target.

Just behind him in the pro-rata per 90-minute table is Luis Diaz. The Colombian isn’t as consistent as Salah, having failed twice to get a shot on target this season, but when the going is good, there are few that are better.

He has tested goalkeepers at least twice on three occasions, doing so four times against Bournemouth last weekend. All but one this season occurred before the interval, so Diaz will have one or more shots on target in the first half.

Andre to be shown a card

Only Newcastle, with 19, have seen more opposing players booked than Liverpool (18) this season. With at least three opposition yellows in every Reds game and only two teams having received more than Wolves, it’s clear which team to pick in the cards markets.

Rayan Ait-Nouri and Joao Gomes are stand-out candidates, each having been cautioned three times. At the other end of the spectrum, Jorgen Strand Larsen is second in the league for most fouls without receiving a card, so is worth a look too.

We must also consider who has been in trouble against the Slot machine. In their last six games, at least one of the opposition holding midfielders was booked, with both getting a card twice and Edson Alvarez getting an early bath in midweek.

As such, one-time reported Liverpool target Andre looks at risk. In his last two full seasons in Brazil’s Serie A, he was in the top 10 players for yellow cards. As he was also booked in his Molineux debut, Andre should be shown a card here.

Mario Lemina to commit 1+ fouls

Two players who’ve been kicking their way through the Premier League for longer are Gomes and Mario Lemina. The former has committed a foul in more matches than any other player since the start of last season, having done so in 34 of his 39 appearances.

Lemina, on 32, is not far behind. With little to separate them, take Lemina to commit one of more fouls as his odds are quite a bit better.

Matheus Cunha to be fouled 1+ time

Selecting a Reds player to be fouled would seem the logical option. But referees don’t like Liverpool for some reason, probably because most of them come from Manchester. Slot’s side have been fouled the fewest times of any Premier League team in 2024/25.

Leading these standings for Wolves is Matheus Cunha, with Jean-Ricner Bellegarde next in line and level with Liverpool’s most fouled player, Alexis Mac Allister. The price is longer for the former despite him being top of the pile for the Old Gold, so let’s finish with Cunha to be fouled one or more times.

Luis Diaz to have 1+ shots on target
Andre to be shown a card
