Our very own Premier League winner Joe Cole returns for domestic action this weekend and the Paddy ambassador’s submitted his selections from Saturday right through to Monday.
Here he’s filled us in with his Newcastle v Manchester City calls and it’s a game he’ll be covering on the telly in Saturday’s early slot. Joe’s finished his homework so let’s see what he’s thinking.
Newcastle v Man City Tips
Manchester City to Win 2-1
Anthony Gordon to score
WHEN: Saturday 28th September, 12.30pm
WHERE: St James’ Park, Newcastle
TV: TNT Sports 1 and TNT Sports Ultimate
Rodri being out changes things. Manchester City have always had a good record up there, and at home against Newcastle to be fair, so you’d have to say it would be an away win.
The stats on Rodri coming out of the team on Man City’s side are incredible really. I’m really looking forward to covering this on the TV, really looking forward to it.
Newcastle have had a good start but some might say that they haven’t played that well, that they’ve got better results than their performances have warranted. I just fancy Man City to win this 2-1 in a real-tight game.
I’m not using my NAP in this game, that’s for sure! It’s going to be really interesting to see what Pep Guardiola does and who comes in for Rodri in that central-midfield position.
I’m not as convinced they’d win as I would have been with him but I do fancy City just and their record up there is great. I think Newcastle will score and I’m going to go with Anthony Gordon.
I love Anthony Gordon and he’s a super player. He’s at the right club with the right manager. With City’s inverted full backs, Gordon’s as good as anyone on the break and his movement has improved so much.
