Man Utd -1
It is still early day and the results are yet to come, but Manchester United look a much-improved side from the circus of last season.
The Liverpool defeat aside, United can claim to have played at least pretty well in each of their games this season and are conceding far fewer shots on goal than last year. They are also creating far more opportunities than they did last season and could have been two or three goals ahead by the half time break at Crystal Palace last Saturday.
Their upcoming opponents are somewhat difficult to gauge given that they currently sit fourth in the Eredivisie after back-to-back wins with the notable caveat that it is the Eredivisie and they have played more games than a number of teams in the league.
This is Erik Ten Hag’s first meeting with a Dutch side since joining United in 2022 and the former Ajax boss should be right in his comfort zone when FC Twente visit Old Trafford.
United have an opportunity to get their Europa League campaign off to an ideal start ahead of a much more difficult trip to Porto next week and it is imperative that they come away with a convincing win. They should do so.
Alejandro Garnacho to Score
Alejandro Garnacho missed a number of golden opportunities against Palace on Saturday, with Dean Henderson in inspired form in the Palace goal. He was also unlucky to see a first-time curling effort come back off the crossbar.
But Garnacho has been getting on the end of chances with increasing regularity this season, as showcased by his brace against Barnsley and his goalscoring impact from the bench against Southampton ten days ago.
Garnacho missed a sitter against Fulham on the opening day of the season and was desperately unlucky to have a goal ruled out at Brighton when his goal-bound shot deflected off an offside Joshua Zirkzee on the goal line with the goalkeeper already beaten.
Garnacho has shown that he is equally dangerous from the bench as he is as a starter and is good value to find the back of the net on Wednesday night.

Joshua Zirkzee to have Two or More Shots on Target
After a goalscoring impact on his debut, it hasn’t quite worked out for Joshua Zirkzee at United so far.
The striker could do nothing about Garnacho’s disallowed goal but did miss a handful of chances in United’s 3-0 win against Liverpool a week later.
United, however, look a much better team with Zirkzee on the pitch and the Dutch striker has certainly not been shy of having a go in his fledgling United career.
Zirkzee has averaged 1.6 shots per game in the Premier League this season despite only starting three of United’s five games to date – the joint-second-highest average of any United player.
Zirkzee has started each of United’s last three league games and could very well lead the line again.
United are likely to dominate much of Wednesday’s encounter, giving Zirkzee plenty of opportunities to add to his tally at the club.
Youri Reeger to Commit Three or More Fouls
Twente midfielder Youri Reeger will have his hands full.
United are starting to establish some form of playing style under ten Hag, dominating the ball in each of their five league games so far this season, something they certainly weren’t doing in a majority of their games last year.
They are also far more cohesive in attack and are likely to pin Twente back for large portions of Wednesday’s Europa League opener.
Reeger, who averages 1.3 fouls per game in the Eredivisie this season, is one of the most prominent foulers in the Twente side and could easily find himself on the wrong end of a few decisions when he faces off against a United attack that boasts several players that know how to draw a foul.
