Wycombe v Aston Villa Tips: Duran to do the business in this 13/1 Bet Builder

Our tipster Colin Harvey runs the rule over Tuesday's TV League Cup action.

We’ve a Premier League v League One match in the Carabao Cup on the box on Tuesday night. It’s Wycombe v Aston Villa who have a rather packed fixture list this season as they’re competing in the Champions League.

Our tipster’s had a good look at the markets to see if we’re in line for a potential upset in this one.

Wycombe v Aston Villa tips

Wycombe (+2)
Both teams to score
Jhon Duran to score
Under 1.5 first half goals

WHEN: Tuesday 24th of September, 8pm
WHERE: Adams Park, Wycombe
TV: Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Football

Wycombe (+2)

As Aston Villa are, rightly, Paddy’s big favourites for this game I think there’s potential value in the Wycombe handicaps. The Chairboys are in good form in League One and Villa simply have to rotate.

This will be No.4 on their list of priorities this season and last year they went out at the first opportunity with a rotated team against Everton. Everton!

I’m not saying Wycombe are going to win this but with home advantage and Villa boss Unai Emery ringing the changes they’ve got a good chance of keeping it within a goal.

Both Teams To Score: Yes

They might well net as well, Wycombe. The third tier’s 9th best side have scored 12 in six league games, conceding 10 in the process.

Both teams have scored in five of their six games. They’re a threat going forward and Aston Villa can be a bit leaky, as BTTS has clicked in four of their six games this term, with Arsenal keeping them out and Young Boys failing to breach Villa’s backline.

Given that the away side will mix it up, that adds more scope for a bit of confusion, and a lack of cohesion in defence. There could be a few goals in this.

Jhon Duran to score

And one man likely to get on the scoresheet is Villa’s mercurial young striker Jhon Duran. I suspect he’ll start in place of Ollie Watkins in this game and has scored some amazing goals already this season.

We’ve already mentioned Wycombe are pretty open, with 22 goals for and against combined in their six league games so far. You have to fancy that Duran will enjoy his Tuesday night.

Under 1.5 first half goals

Villa’s ten Premier League goals so far this season is the joint-third highest in the top-flight. However. Emery have heavily relied on his team to launch late rallies, as shown in their 3-1 weekend derby win over Wolves as all three goals came in the final 20 minutes.

Just three of those ten goals have been scored in the first half, and despite the drop in opposition, a changed Villa team may have to be patient at Adams Park.
