Monday night’s got some televised League Two action lined up for us when bottom-of-the-lot Morecambe make the short trip south to Fleetwood.
Our football tipster Paddy Murphy is all over this one and has picked out the three best bets, so let’s get into his Fleetwood v Morecambe betting tips.
Fleetwood v Morecambe betting tips
Fleetwood Town half time/full time
Under 0.5 Morcambe goals
Yann Songo’o to commit 2+ fouls
WHEN: Monday, September 22nd, 20:00
WHERE: Highbury Stadium, Fleetwood
TV: Sky Sports Main Event/Football
Fleetwood Town half time/full time
At first glance of the results of both teams, you wouldn’t exactly be filled with confidence that we’re going to be in for a classic televised Monday night game here. Indeed, over their last 10 combined fixtures in all competitions, only three saw a victory.
However, we can see a massive difference when we just look at their respective league form. Fleetwood have won two, drawn two and lost one of their last five in League Two, Morcambe have collected a paltry point over their six league games this season. They’ve lost all three of their away games without scoring a single goal.
We’ve seen nine first-half goals in all five of Fleetwood’s most recent games, and the traveling side has conceded a first-half goal in all three of their away league outings. There’s little doubt over who should be winning here, but with those stats, we can squeeze some extra value out of the odds for Charlie Adam’s side. We’re backing them in the half time/full time market.
Under 0.5 Morecambe goals
As mentioned above, the away side have failed to score in any of their three away league games this season. Indeed, they’ve only scored five goals over their eight games this season, two of them came in the League Cup and all of the other three came in a home draw with Colchester last weekend.
Getting over Evens for them to go scoreless yet again screams value, particularly as it’s something they’ve done six times over their eight games.
Yann Songo’o to be commit 2+ fouls
Yann Songo’o has continued this season where he left off last time around. He’s already been carded three times, after picking up seven in the last campaign. In shielding the defence, he plays an important role for Derek Adam’s side, but he’s got a tendency to be a little too tenacious at times in tackles.
He’s by far the most likely of the Morecambe players to have his name taken by the referee, and against a Fleetwood side that will be eager to get a win here, he’s definitely going to be involved in the midfield battle as the hosts go in search of a goal. We’re backing him to commit at least two fouls.
