The Premier League returns with a bang this weekend, and a mouth-watering London derby is getting festivities underway.
Former West Ham and Chelsea forward and new Paddy Power pundit Joe Cole caught up with us to give us the lowdown on both sides, so let’s get straight into his West Ham v Chelsea betting tips.
West Ham v Chelsea tips
1-1
Nicolas Jackson to score
Mohamed Kudus to score
WHEN: Saturday, September 21st, 12:30
WHERE: The London Stadium, London
TV: TNT Sports 1
Last time out against Bournemouth, Chelsea kept their first clean sheet away from home since last October. They’ve had loads of changes in the centre-back pairings during that time and the back four has generally never been settled, so it’s a positive sign that they’ve tightened up.
West Ham have had a difficult start to the season, though I thought they’d have found it even more challenging as it’s a big transition from David Moyes to Julen Lopetegui.
Chelsea and West Ham have performed reasonably well this season. The Blues have more points on the board, but they’re both excellent teams, and we’re still seeing how they develop under two new managers. Therefore, I see this as a low-scoring draw and fancy 1-1
Noni Madueke’s been amongst the goals this season. Cole Palmer hasn’t hit the heights of last season yet, but he has threatened and had some assists. Still, I will go with Nicolas Jackson for a goal on Saturday. He’s looked like a threat this season and Enzo Maresca seems to like him.
On West Ham, I’ll go for Mohamed Kudus. He’s been quiet recently but is a player that has impressed me before and is due a goal
