Football Accumulator Tips: Saturday’s 21/1 punt for the 3pm games

There's a bumper SIX games we can't watch on the tele!

Saturday's 3pm Premier League Acca tips, Leicester v Everton, Liverpool v Bournemouth, Spurs v Brentford, Aston Villa v Wolves, Fulham v Newcastle, Southampton v Ipswich, 21st September 2024

The Premier League returns after a fascinating opening round of the Champions League. With more European games pencilled in for next Wednesday and Thursday, we’ve got six clashes slated for the traditional 3pm slot.

Our footie tipster, Sam Farley, has rolled up his sleeves and plunged into markets for all six games on offer.

Since this is a six-fold Acca, we’re covered by Paddy’s Footy acca betting offer, so should one leg let you down, you get your stake back!

Oh, and it’s double bubble here too, as Sam’s gone for two player picks which fall under Paddy’s Super Sub promotion, meaning the pick carries over to his replacement should he come off.

Premier League Football Accumulator Tips

Southampton v Ipswich – Ipswich double chance
Leicester v Everton – Over 2.5 goals
Liverpool v Bournemouth – Mohamed Salah to score
Tottenham vs Brentford – Dominic Solanke to have 1+ shots on target
Aston Villa v Wolves – Aston Villa to win
Fulham v Newcastle – Newcastle to win

Southampton v Ipswich – Ipswich double chance

We’re only early in the season but this clash between two of this year’s promoted teams is one that both managers would have marked down as an important win if they’re going to stay in the Premier League.

Only two points separate the teams so far but Ipswich have already played two of the league’s big boys in Man City and Liverpool and have impressed in the two draws since.

If we look back at the two Championship meetings between the clubs last season, we can see that Ipswich won both home and away, scoring a combined total of four goals compared to Southampton’s two.

Given that Kieran McKenna has had the best of Russell Martin so far, there’s a good chance he’ll continue his streak. We’ll take a wee bit of insurance, though. The Tractor Boys have drawn all three of their most recent fixtures in all competitions, so let’s take them in the Double Chance market.

Leicester v Everton – Over 2.5 goals

Leicester v Everton is another game that both managers will have listed a must-win game to remain in the Premier League. A win for Everton would see the Toffees leapfrog Leicester, while a win for the Foxes would see them pull away from the relegation zone, at least for now.

So far, both of these teams have been involved in high-scoring games. Leicester drew 1-1 with Spurs on the opening weekend but since have seen all three games hit the Over 2.5 goal mark, while every single Everton games has seen Overs land, with a total of 17 goals witnessed across their four Premier League games to date.

Liverpool v Bournemouth – Mohamed Salah to score

We don’t know what the future holds for Mohamed Salah at Liverpool but he’s playing as well as he has in recent seasons and the club will be desperate to hold onto him. The Egyptian has already found the back of the net three times this season.

Bournemouth are averaging more than one goal given up per game, and with Salah as the key man in the Liverpool attack and taking penalties, we should back the 32-year-old to continue his fine form in front of the Kop.

Tottenham v Brentford – Dominic Solanke to have 1+ shots on target

Last week Dominic Solanke returned to the Spurs team following injury and failed to score in that North London Derby defeat. That said, he actually played well, showing some impressive movement and the anticipation that will get him back in the goals very soon.

He might not have scored since making the switch to Tottenham this summer, but he managed 19 points in the Premier League last season and faces easier opposition on Saturday than last week. Brentford are averaging 1.5 goals conceded per game, and Spurs have the creativity to exploit a patchy defence.

Solanke should be testing Mark Flekken’s reflexes between the Cherries’ sticks.

Aston Villa v Wolves – Aston Villa to win

It’s been a big week for Aston Villa after the club put three past Young Boys on their return to the Champions League but it’s back to Premier League action this weekend and a clash against their local rivals Wolves.

The home side won this fixture 2-0 last season and should repeat that here, given recent form.

Villa are playing well, and Ollie Watkins looks back to his best, scoring a brace against Everton. Wolves have just one point all season and have conceded the second-highest number of goals in the Premier League, with 11 shipped in four matches.

Fulham v Newcastle – Newcastle to win

We’re still unclear if Alexander Isak will play following his eye injury but with or without the Swede we should see a win for Newcastle. We’re only four games deep into the season but Newcastle are flying high in third and are one of just five unbeaten teams.

So far, Fulham have looked like a team still rebuilding their identity, with midfield a weakness following the departure of Joao Palhinha to Bayern Munich. While they’re missing his ability to screen the back four, they’re also missing his ability to build from the midfield, with the team scoring just four in four in the league to date.

Newcastle have more quality across the pitch, particularly in key positions. We’re going with Toon to take the three points.
