Round three of the Carabao Cup continues on Wednesday night and Championship hosts Premier League on the tellybox.
Our new signing Joe Cole, a former Sky Blues player (yeh, we don’t remember that happening either), caught up with us earlier in the week and reckons his old side will do the business against Ange Postecoglou’s Lillywhites. Let’s get into his Coventry v Spurs betting tips.
Coventry v Spurs tips
Coventry to win 2-1
WHEN: Wednesday, September 18th, 20:00
WHERE: The CBS Arena, Coventry
TV: Sky Sports Main Event/Football
This time last year, Ange Postecoglou’s name was everywhere. He’d got Spurs playing a beautiful brand of football but it tailed off at the end of last season.
So far this season, they’ve been indifferent. Their performances leading up to the North London Derby was okay and they missed their chance to take down Arsenal.
Arsenal had to change their team around, so they missed an opportunity. It’s hard to know where Tottenham really are at the moment.
We’ve got James Maddison returning to his old club. I played with him when I was at Coventry. It’s a fantastic club.
What happened to them in the semi-final of the FA Cup against Manchester United last season was nothing short of a disgrace with that VAR decision.
My head’s telling me that Spurs will bounce back but my heart’s saying that Coventry will cause an upset.
The way the draw is, Coventry have history on their side too, getting to the semi-final last season and beating Spurs in a final back in 1987.
I can see them winning 2-1 and really turning the screw on Tottenham.
