Bayern Munich v Dinamo Zagreb

TV: TNT Sports 2

Bayern Munich to win
Harry Kane to score 2+ goals

Bayern Munich get their Champions League campaign up and running at home to Dinamo Zagreb on the back of a strong start to the Bundesliga season.

After losing their title to Bayer Leverkusen at the end of 2023/24, new Bayern boss Vincent Kompany has won his first three league games in charge, as attention now turns to Europe.

The visitors have won four of their opening six league games, but this is a step up in class, and Bayern won five and drew one of their six group games last season. Don’t expect any other outcome.

We are also throwing two Harry Kane goals into this pick, as he already has five so far this season for Kompany’s charges, including a hat trick in the 6-1 weekend win away at Holstein Kiel.

He also finished last season’s competition as the joint top scorer, level with Kylian Mbappe on eight, and scored two goals in one game twice.

Real Madrid v Stuttgart

TV: TNT Sports 1

Real Madrid to win
Kylian Mbappe to score

Real Madrid roared back into action over the weekend with a 2-0 win at Real Sociedad to extend their unbeaten start to the La Liga season to five games.

Los Blancos have won both of their home games so far this season, without conceding a goal, and a Stuttgart team with just one league win so far in 2024/25 shouldn’t threaten that.

All eyes will be on Mbappe’s Champions League debut in Madrid and the France star has seen his form pick up after an indifferent start.

Two goals before the international break was followed by a successful penalty at La Real, as he continues to share spot kick duties with Vinicius Junior.

Sporting Lisbon v Lille

TV: TNT Sports 4

Viktor Gyökeres to score

There isn’t a more in-form striker in world football right now than Sporting’s Viktor Gyökres. The sharpshooter has scored eight goals in five matches in the Liga Portugal this season, an average of 1.6 goals per game.

The Swede is no stranger to the European stage, as seen in last season’s Europa League, where he bagged five goals. The Champions League allows him to remind the rest of Europe of his talents in what could be a busy night for Lille goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier.

Lille have lost three in a row and conceded six goals and Gyökeres could pounce on their poor form. So far this season, he has shown he doesn’t need many opportunities to find the net and it may only take one on Tuesday.
