Aston Villa v Everton betting tips

Aston Villa, half-time result
Aston Villa to win
Amadou Onana to commit 1 or more fouls
Tim Iroegbunam to be shown a card
Jack Harrison to have 1 or more shots on target

WHEN: Saturday, September 14th, 17.30
WHERE: Villa Park, Birmingham
TV: Sky Sports Premier League/Main Event

To win the first half: Aston Villa

We’re only three games deep into the Premier League season but we’re already beginning to see some form trends. Villa may only have been winning in one of the three games at half-time but they’ve not been losing in any, scoring two goals in the opening 45 so far.

On the other hand, Everton are tied for the worst record in the Premier League when it comes to the first period. They’ve drawn the first half once, have twice been trailing at the break, and have given up an average of a goal per first half.

To win the game: Aston Villa

We’re also taking Villa to keep hold of their lead and finish the game with another three points. They have looked impressive so far with two wins to their name and their only defeat coming against a very good Arsenal team.

Everton are yet to even pick up a point, scoring just two goals and to make matters worse they’ve conceded 10 goals already, a number that doesn’t feel sustainable. They’re in big trouble on the road to one of the league’s better teams.

Amadou Onana to commit 1+ fouls

The Belgian midfielder is set to face his former team, who he left this summer. Onana was a popular figure at Goodison Park but the away fans will be on his back from the first minute of this game.

Onana has been Villa’s best player so far this season but he has been rash at times, picking up two yellow cards and he’s averaged 2.3 fouls per game. This isn’t a vintage Everton team but it’ll still be a tough game and with the added emotion of facing his former team there’s likely to be another foul ahead.

Tim Iroegbunam to be shown a card

Everton’s Tim Iroegbunam leads his team in fouls committed per game, with nine so far, an average of three per game. He plays in the heart of the midfield and will be up against Onana and Youri Tielemans here.

He’s only got the one yellow card so far this season but will almost certainly rack up another if he keeps up his current average.

Jack Harrison to have 1+ shots on target

To wrap up our Bet Builder we’re going to back Jack Harrison to have one or more shots on target against Villa. Harrison has started all three matches so far and while he’s yet to score it isn’t down to a lack of trying.

He leads Everton in total shots with five, at an average of 1.94 per 90 minutes played and also leads the team in shots on target with two across those three games. If he were to get subbed then you’ll get his replacement with this market covered by Paddy’s Super Sub promotion.
