France v Belgium

UEFA Nations League match at the Parc Olympique Lyonnais, Lyon
KO: 7:45pm

Kylian Mbappe to score

France’s UEFA Nations League campaign started with a shock 3-1 loss to old foes Italy in Paris and they will be out for revenge against Belgium in Lyon.

However, they could face a real battle against the Belgians, as infamous Nations League cynic Kevin De Bruyne smashed in two goals in a 3-1 home victory against Israel.

All eyes (French ones, at least) will be on captain Kylian Mbappe who ended his wait for a La Liga goal at Real Madrid ahead of the international break and has five goals in his last seven games on French soil for Les Bleus.

Israel v Italy

UEFA Nations League match at the Bozsik Aréna, Budapest
KO: 7:45pm

Italy to win and over 2.5 goals

Italy take on Israel in the neutral setting of Budapest in their second Nations League game of the window as Luciano Spalletti’s team look to build on that win in France.

Spalletti’s side bowed out of Euro 2024 at the last 16 stage, and victory in Paris will ease some of the pressure on his position, and they will be confident of successive wins.

Israel have won just one of their last six competitive games home and away and their sole clean sheet in that run came in a 2-0 win over Andorra.

Norway v Austria

UEFA Nations League match at the Ullevaal Stadion, Oslo
KO: 7:45pm

Erling Haaland to score

Erling Haaland and Norway drew a blank out in Kazakhstan with a 0-0 stalemate. A rare sight of Haaland not finding the back of the net looks likely to be rectified as Norway host Austria in Oslo.

Haaland bagged a hat trick in his last home game for Norway, in a 3-0 summer win over Kosovo, and he already has seven Premier League goals so far this season, including two hat tricks for Manchester City.

Montenegro v Wales

UEFA Nations League match at the Gradski Stadion Niksic, Niksic
KO: 7:45pm

TV: S4C/BBC iPlayer

Under 2.5 goals

Craig Bellamy got his tenure as Wales boss up and running with a 0-0 draw against Turkey in Cardiff. Bellamy’s charges couldn’t find a late winner, after Turkey were reduced to 10 men, but it was a positive start for Bellamy.

A trip to Montenegro will be tricky, but if Wales can show the same defensive resilience they should keep the game tight, and the hosts have only been involved in one game with over 2.5 goals across five outings in 2024.

Turkey v Iceland

UEFA Nations League match at the Gürsel Aksel Stadium, Izmir
KO: 7:45pm

Under 2.5 goals

Turkey were unable to to find a goal in Cardiff as Iceland produced a solid display to beat Montenegro 2-0 in Reykjavik.

Despite scoring eight goals at Euro 2024, Turkey will find Iceland a similarly resolute defence to the Welsh, as they land in Izmir.

Four of Iceland’s six competitive games across the last 12 months, including three clean sheets, have finished with under 2.5 goals, and they will be confident of keeping this game very close on Monday night.
