Belgium v Israel

UEFA Nations League match at Nagyerdei Stadion, Debrecen
KO: 7:45pm

Under 2.5 goals

Belgium kick off their UEFA Nations League campaign against Israel in Hungary in what sounds like Kevin De Bruyne’s worst nightmare.

The Manchester City star has been a major critic of the tournament, labelling it as a set of ‘glorified friendlies’ back in 2022, but he’s set to captain Domenico Tedesco’s team here.

Belgium bowed out of Euro 2024 in low-key style, losing to France in the last 16, after winning just one game in the tournament.

They scored just two goals and all four of their matches featured under 2.5 goals scored. Israel have only scored more than one goal in a competitive game on once in their last seven outings across the last 12 months.

France v Italy

UEFA Nations League match at Parc des Princes, Paris
KO: 7:45pm

France win to nil

France’s Euro 2024 path ended in the semi finals as they lost to champions Spain and Italy failed to make it out of the group stages.

Luciano Spalletti has survived the ensuing pressure and remains in place but his team still look low on confidence ahead of a trip to Paris.

France were not at their sparkling best at Euro 2024, but Didier Deschamps’ team found ways to win, with just three goals conceded from six matches, and four clean sheets.

Slovenia v Austria

UEFA Nations League match at Stožice Stadium, Ljubljana
KO: 7:45pm

Both teams to score

Slovenia host Austria on the back of a bizarre record of five successive draws ended by a penalty shootout loss to Portugal at Euro 2024.

Two of those five ended 0-0, against Portugal and England, with three at 1-1, and that gives Austria some hope of getting on the scoresheet in Ljubljana.

The Austrians impressed at Euro 2024, with seven goals in four games, in wins over Poland and the Netherlands as they scored in three of those matches.

Iceland v Montenegro

UEFA Nations League match at Laugardalsvöllur, Reykjavik
KO: 7:45pm

Iceland to win

Montenegro face a trek to Reykjavik to kickstart their campaign after both sides missed out on Euro 2024 qualification. Montenegro lost their two summer friendlies, against Belgium and Georgia, as Iceland beat England at Wembley and lost to the Netherlands.

However, this game sees Iceland host a game on home soil for the first time in 10 months, and they are unbeaten in their last three games in Reykjavik, with Montenegro winless in their last three competitive away matches.

Wales v Turkey

UEFA Nations League match at Cardiff City Stadium, Cardiff
KO/TV: 7:45pm on S4C and BBC iPlayer

Both teams to score

The Craig Bellamy era as Wales boss gets underway on Friday night as he plays host to Turkey. The home fans will look to make a tense atmosphere for the visitors but that will not phase Vincenzo Montella’s team one bit.

Turkey reached the quarters of Euro 2024, as Wales failed to qualify, and these two have recent history after facing each other in qualification for the tournament.

Wales sealed a 1-1 home draw against Turkey last November, and Bellamy will be hoping the power of the home crowd can help him dodge a debut defeat, as Turkey failed to win in five away games in the run up to Euro 2024.

The Welsh have scored in four of their last five home games, and despite failing to win in above five matches, Turkey scored in three of them.
