Everton v Bournemouth
TEAM NEWS
Everton XI: Pickford; Coleman, Keane, Tarkowski, Mykolenko; Iroegbunam, Gueye; Harrison, McNeil, Ndiaye; Calvert-Lewin.
Bournemouth XI: Kepa; Araujo, Zabarnyi, Senesi, Kerkez; Cook, Christie; Semenyo, Kluivert, Tavernier; Evanilson.
Tim Iroegbunam to commit 1 or more fouls in first half
Everton’s new signing, Tim Iroegbunam, has been a menace to opposing players and referees throughout his two appearances for the Toffees this season. He’s started his team’s outings with two combined losses, zero goals scored, and seven conceded.
He can’t be faulted for his work rate, but his desire to win back the ball has left him averaging 3.5 fouls committed per game, which is tied for the highest amount in the Premier League.
Ipswich v Fulham
TEAM NEWS
Ipswich XI: Muric; Tuanzebe, Woolfenden, Greaves, Davis; Morsy, Phillips; Hutchinson, Szmodics, Ogbene; Delap.
Fulham XI: Leno; Tete, Diop, Bassey, Robinson; Iwobi; Pereira, Lukić; Traoré, Smith Rowe; Muniz.
Liam Delap to commit 1 or more fouls in first half
With Ipswich facing Fulham, there’s one man that we will pinpoint to commit a first-half foul, Liam Delap, who joined the Tractor Boys for £20m from Man City this summer.
He’s started both of Ipswich’s games so far and has struggled, failing to register a single shot, let alone one on target. That hasn’t stopped him from putting himself about, and he’s hindered opposition defenders. He’s already been blown up for five fouls across his two games.
Nottingham Forest v Wolves
TEAM NEWS
Forest XI: Sels; Williams, Milenkovic, Murillo, Aina; Sangare, Anderson; Elanga, Gibbs-White, Hudson-Odoi; Wood.
Wolves XI: Johnstone; Semedo, Mosquera, Dawson; Ait-Nouri, J. Gomes, Lemina, T. Gomes; Cunha, Bellegarde; Larsen.
Morgan Gibbs-White to commit 1 or more fouls in first half
We’ll finally see Morgan Gibbs-White in an England shirt, something he has deserved for the last 12 months he’s played for Forest. He’s a real attacking talent, but one area that goes unnoticed is his commitment to helping his team defend.
That defensive commitment can often see him give up plenty of fouls, perhaps offsetting his wins. Through two games, he’s seen the ref blow up for a foul on six occasions and should be suitable for an early foul against his former team in what is a revenge game.
Brentford v Southampton
TEAM NEWS
Brentford XI: Flekken; Pinnock, Collins, Ajer; Jensen, Janelt, Nørgaard, Damsgaard; Mbeumo, Wissa, Schade.
Southampton XI: Ramsdale; Stephens, Bednarek, Harwood-Bellis; Sugawara, Smallbone, Downes, Aribo, Walker-Peters; Brereton Díaz, Armstrong.
Flynn Downes to commit 1 or more fouls in first half
The former West Ham man has been an ever-present for the Saints this season, playing the full 90 in both Premier League games. He sits at the base of the midfield, alongside a less than stellar group of teammates, which is probably why he’s racked up six fouls committed already this season.
He’s also picked up a booking and could have another tricky afternoon against a Brentford midfield who outshine Southampton regarding quality.
Leicester v Aston Villa
TEAM NEWS
Leicester XI: Hermansen; Justin, Okoli, Faes, Kristiansen; Skipp, Winks, Ndidi; Fatawu, Vardy, Ayew.
Villa XI: Martinez; Bogarde, Konsa, Torres, Digne; Onana, Tielemans; Bailey, Rogers, McGinn; Watkins.
Wilfred Ndidi to commit 1 or more fouls in first half
At least statistically, the shakiest leg of this Bet Builder is Wilfred Ndidi. The Nigerian has been one of Leicester’s better players since their promotion to the Premier League. Still, his work is cut out on Saturday against an excellent Aston Villa midfield.
He operates at the heart of his team’s midfield and will be tasked with breaking up Villa’s attacking play. He’s given up four fouls across two games, an average that should imply a first-half foul.
