Bodo/Glimt v Crvena zvezda

UEFA Champions League match at the Aspmyra Stadium, Bodo
TV: TNT Sports 1, Tuesday 8pm

Bodo/Glimt to win and over 2.5 goals

Bodo/Glimt are one round away from qualifying for the Champions League proper for the first time. The Norwegian side have previously enjoyed European trips under Kjetil Knutsen, most notably a 3-0 win over Jose Mourinho’s Roma in the Europa Conference League in 2021. They made short work of Jagiellonia Białystok in the last round, beating the Polish side 5-1 on aggregate. This continued a successful run of home results in Europe, winning nine from 11 and scoring 41 goals.

Crvena Zvezda hope to prevent their Norwegian opponents from making club history. The 1991 Champions League winners want to better their Champions League performance from last season where they were eliminated at the group stage, losing five of their six games which all featured over 2.5 goals. The Serbian champions qualified for the playoffs by winning the league last season. However, they have struggled to reproduce that form in Europe, especially away from home, losing their last eight.

Dinamo Zagreb v Qarabag

UEFA Champions League match at the Stadion Maksimir, Zagreb
TV: TNT Sports 2, Tuesday 8pm

Both teams to score and over 2.5 goals

Dinamo Zagreb have started their league campaign perfectly, taking three wins from three. A 1-0 win and 2-2 draw knocked out Shakhtar Donetsk in the previous round. The Croatians have started their domestic season strongly, winning three games out of three and topping the table. They have seen over 2.5 goals in four of their five games this campaign.

Games involving Qarabag have provided plenty of goals too so far this season with the Azerbaijani side beating Ludogorets an astonishing 8-4 on aggregate to reach the final playoff round. They have scored in every game so far and expect more of the same here as they look to take something back for the second leg at home.

Lille v Slavia Praha

UEFA Champions League match at the Stade Du Hainaut, Valenciennes
TV: Prime Video, Tuesday, 8:00pm

Lille to Win, Jonathan David to Score

Lille scraped past Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce in the previous qualifying round thanks to a 118th-minute penalty from Jonathan David. The Canadian international added another goal to his tally on Saturday in a 2-0 win against Reims. The forward scored 26 goals last season and will play a key role if Bruno Génésio’s side wants to make the group stages. If they are to win, he’s the most likely scorer by a distance.

Slavia Praha saw off Belgian champions Union Saint Gilloise 4-1 to get to this stage and will provide a stern test for their French opponents. However, they will struggle to keep a team of Lille’s quality at bay and could find themselves with work to do in the second leg if they want to make the group stages.
