The Fabian Hürzeler era begins at Goodison Park on the opening weekend of the 2024/25 Premier League campaign – and the latest Everton vs Brighton odds can be found on the Paddy Power website.
Seagulls manager Hürzeler, 31, is the youngest full-time boss in the history of the league after being lured from German outfit St Pauli to replace Roberto De Zerbi earlier this summer.
Incredibly, the German’s younger than some members of his first-team squad and it seems fitting that his first test is Premier League stalwart Sean Dyche, who has very much been there, done that and got the t-shirt.
Everton defied an eight-point deduction to comfortably retain their place in the top flight and would have finished level with Brighton if they weren’t punished for financial problems. You’d have got a big price on that at the start of last season.
Ireland international Jake O’Brien is Dyche’s biggest summer signing, while former Sheffield United forward Iliman Ndiaye has arrived from Marseille to add a touch of class to the Toffees’ attack.
Brighton have also been busy in the transfer market, splashing big sums on Newcastle winger Yankuba Minteh and Dutch defensive midfielder Mats Wieffer.

A full debut could be handed to summer signing O’Brien alongside James Tarkowski at the back, while fellow new boys Tim Iroegbunam, Jesper Lindstrom and Ndiaye are hoping to start.

Summer signings Minteh and Wieffer could be throw in from the off.
Brighton Predicted XI: Steele; Veltman, Van Hecke, Dunk, Barco; Milner, Wieffer; Minteh, Pedro, Mitoma; Welbeck

Everton vs Brighton tips
Paddy Power football tipster Sam Farley is backing Under 2.5 Goals in Everton v Brighton.
Our sharpshooter thinks the clash is “primed to be low scoring” because the Toffees only managed 40 goals in 38 Premier League games last season and Hürzeler’s St Pauli side were a compact outfit.

Everton vs Brighton prediction
Everton v Brighton is unlikely to be troubling the early slots on the Match of the Day running order and, quite frankly, it is a match that has draw written all over it.
Despite racking up some impressive results in pre-season, the Seagulls could take a while to properly click under Hürzeler, although they should have enough individual quality to deny Sean Dyche’s tried-and-tested Toffees a win on the opening day of the season.
Paddy’s Prediction: Everton 1-1 Brighton
