Friday 8pm: Man Utd v Fulham – Smith Rowe 1+ sot

The Premier League returns on Friday and everyone will be looking to lay down a marker in this opening round of fixtures. There are still plenty of question marks over Manchester United but they’ve strengthened again and the pressure will be firmly on Erik ten Hag to deliver.

Fulham have made a canny signing in Emile Smith Rowe and it feels like there’s a decent chance they get something from this game, just like they did last season. While steering clear of a result prediction we’ll have Smith Rowe to have 1 + shots on target as a slick Super Sub play here.

Saturday 12.30pm: Ipswich v Liverpool – Liverpool (-2)

TV: TNT Sports 1 and TNT Sports Ultimate

It’s a new era for Ipswich and Liverpool and it will be interesting to see how both fare this season. The Tractor Boys are back in the big time and Arne Slot has the unenviable task of trying to follow Jurgen Klopp at the Kop.

Ipswich have been sensational in the last couple of seasons but the Premier League is a different ball game to The Championship and League One. We’re waiting to see how Liverpool adapt to Slot but, in reality, this should be a big away win and the price on Liverpool (-2) is appealing.

Sunday 4.30pm: Chelsea v Man City – Palmer to score

TV: Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League

Anything can happen when Chelsea play and it’s a folly trying to work out which 11 of their 40-odd first-team players are going to start. On the flip side, you know exactly what you’re going to get with Manchester City as they go for a fifth title in a row.

The one thing Chelsea can usually rely on is a good performance from former City man Cole Palmer. Man City may win but their academy graduate can hurt them with a goal on Sunday.
