Dominic Calvert-Lewin to score 14 or more EPL goals

Few players divide Evertonian opinion quite like Dominic Calvert-Lewin. DCL diehards remain confident that if it all comes together he’s unstoppable, whilst more gloomy Goodison regulars think his chance has come and gone.

Injuries and a lack of consistency have disrupted his Toffees career ever since bursting through in 2016, and as he enters the final year of his contract, it’s now or never.

Sean Dyche is ready to keep faith in the England striker, and has kept Jack Harrison on loan from Leeds for a second season as well as adding Iliman Ndiaye and Jesper Lindstrøm to get those crosses into the box.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin, everton, november 2023

Calvert-Lewin’s best seasons came under Carlo Ancelotti, with 13 EPL goals in 2019/20 and 16 in the following campaign, making 30+ league starts in both seasons.

He bagged seven from 26 starts last season, and with better service from midfield, that number could creep up into double figures for DCL, if stays fit and starts the majority of Everton’s games in 2024/25.

Kai Havertz to score 16 or more EPL goals

Kai Havertz’s first season at Arsenal was a walking advert for context. Regularly derided by opposition fans with the Arsenal faithful initially very lukewarm over the German international.

However, Mikel Arteta’s faith began to yield reward in the second half of the campaign, and he ended the season with 13 EPL goals, a higher one-term tally than he ever managed at Chelsea.

Despite the murmurings over Arsenal needing a real striker, Arteta will stick by Havertz again, and with Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard creating chances for fun, he can build on a strong first year on the other side of London.

All 20 EPL teams to receive at least 1 EPL red card

Referees are expected to be in sharp focus once again this season and our old pal VAR is ready to play a key role too.

Officials will be scrutinized from the off in 2024/25 but that doesn’t mean they will be shy to hand out cards.

Last season, 19 of the 20 Premier League teams received a red card (or two yellows resulting in a sending off) with Luton Town the sole outliers.

The chance of a repeat, and 19 potentially turning into 20 looks to be strong shout, particularly with more VAR interventions incoming.

Trent Alexander-Arnold, Cole Palmer & Bukayo Saka each to assist 12+ EPL goals

Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal all have designs on a strong season, with the latter ready to challenge for the Premier League title, as Liverpool and Chelsea adjust to life under new managers.

However, all three will be looking to their creators-in-chief to unlock defences and provide the ammunition needed in attack.

Trent™ has finished as Liverpool’s top Premier League assister in two of the last five seasons with Mohamed Salah taking the title in the other years.

Alongside that, two of those five seasons have included 12 or more EPL assists for him, and a rejigged role in Arne Slot’s system could see that figure hit once again.

In 2022/23, Saka topped Arsenal’s EPL assist charts with 11, and laid on nine goals last season, as Arsenal fell short in the title race.

Cole Palmer’s sensational first season at Chelsea saw him bag 22 EPL goals, and make 11 assists. He certainly could join England teammates Saka and Trent in pushing for the 12 assist mark this season.

Haaland & Isak to score 20+ EPL goals each, Nkunku 10+ EPL goals, West Ham finish in top half & Southampton relegated

This is a long shot…..but hear me out.

Let’s start with Erling Haaland. The Norwegian goal gorger battered in 36 and 27 goals respectively in his first two Premier League seasons and shows little sign of slowing down.

Newcastle star Alexander Isak netted 21 EPL goals last season, bettered only by Haaland and Palmer, and the Super Swede is one of the deadliest finishers in the top-flight.

Christopher Nkunku’s debut Premier League campaign was cut in half due to injury, but he looks like an actual transfer success for Chelsea, with over 10 league goals scored in his last two seasons at RB Leipzig.

West Ham kick off a 13th successive Premier League season with a new manager, as Julen Lopetegui sweeps in to replace David Moyes, as part of big changes at the London Stadium.

In the last four seasons under Moyes, West Ham finished in the top half three times, and with some eye-catching reinforcements brought in, they should finish 10th or better once again.

Last season saw all three promoted sides immediately relegated, as Luton, Burnley and Sheffield United slipped back through the trap door, and Southampton will be in a survival battle.

Russell Martin is unproven at Premier League level and question marks sit alongside many of the Saints squad as Premier League players.
