Spain are pushing to follow up their success at Euro 2024 with an Olympic gold medal in the coming days. They narrowly missed out in Tokyo four years ago, with a silver medal, after losing out to Brazil in extra time in the final.
They rested players for their final group game, which they lost to Egypt, but their overall record is impressive in Paris, and a dominant 3-0 quarter final victory against Japan underlined that.
Morocco hammered the USA 4-0 in their own knockout but the talent at Spain’s disposal should tip the balance for them.

Despite sealing a place in the semi finals, Spain’s defensive record is not great, and they have conceded in three of their four games so far.
They face a Moroccan side who have scored in all four of their matches and La Roja could be forced to come from behind to win this game in Marseille.

The hosts have been excellent since the kick-off in this competition as the only team still in the competition to win all four games so far.
Thierry Henry’s charges are yet to concede with eight goals scored as they aim for a first gold in this event since 1984. Egypt showed grit to get out of the group stages, but they needed a late equaliser and penalties to get past Paraguay in the quarters, and Henry will be confident of a final spot.

France’s first four goals at the Olympics came in the second half with wins over the USA and Guinea. However, that changed in their their following matches, with one goal scored before the break.
Alongside that, half of Egypt’s goals have been scored before the interval, and this game could be decided before half time break.
