Man City v AC Milan
Friendly match at Yankee Stadium, New York
TV: City+, 23:00

Man City v AC Milan

Both Teams to Score

When it comes to friendlies, the first thing we’ve got to look at is which players will be among the starting XI for both sides. City are missing a whole boatload of players thanks to their exploits at the Euros and the Copa America, and, as such, their defence looks particularly weak.

AC Milan, on the other hand, won’t be missing nearly as many first-team players. Other than the odd player, they will be fielding a strong enough side, albeit one without Rafael Leao and new signing Alvaro Morato.

Let’s not forget, too, that with the game being played in New York, we’re likely to have a crowd that’s a little more sympathetic towards an Italian side than an English one, so that’s a factor that has to come into play. City still have Erling Haaland, Jack Grealish, and Oscar Bobb likely starting, though, so Both Teams to Score has to start us off.

Erling Haaland Anytime Goalscorer

We rarely see Erling Haaland priced as high as Evens to get on the scoresheet and he was on the scoresheet in City’s 3-4 loss to Celtic in North Carolina on Wednesday last. These odds are just too good for us to refuse.

Wolves v West Ham
Friendly match at TIAA Bank Field, Florida
TV: Premier Sports, 00:00

Wolves v West Ham

Draw

Wolves’ first pre-season friendly sees them travel to Florida to take on West Ham. Makes sense. Julen Lopetegui has overseen two friendly games for the Hammers since taking the reins, drawing 2-2 with Ferencvaros and beating the mighty Dagenham & Redbridge by 0-1.

As with the game above, both sides will be missing a good chunk of their usual starting XI, and if ever there was a game where there was nothing to play for, this is it. We’ll also add that it’s predicted to be around 29C when the game kicks off in Jacksonville. We’re likely looking at a 0-0 or 1-1 here.

Columbus Crew v Aston Villa
Friendly match at Lower.com Field, Ohio
TV: VillaTV

Columbus Crew v Aston Villa

Aston Villa to Win

Columbus Crew must be kicking themselves for taking this game when it was offered first. The Crew are third in the Eastern Conference standings and have two games in hand, and should they win, they would wrestle second spot from Cincinnati. Instead, they’ve to play a friendly against an Aston Villa side who will probably start with John McGinn, Youri Tielemans, Ian Maatsen, and their new signing, Ross Barkley.

They will be without the services of Jhon Duran, Emiliano Martinez, Ezri Konsa, Ollie Watkins, and Tyrone Mings, however. Wilfried Nancy’s side will have zero interest in trying to get anything here other than coming out of it without any injuries. We’re all over Aston Villa to Win here.
