Thierry Henry will be looking to lead France to Olympic gold glory in the coming weeks with the hosts boasting one of the strongest squads in the tournament.
New Bayern Munich winger Michael Olise is in the Les Bleus squad, alongside overage duo Alexandre Lacazette and Jean-Phillippe Mateta, and they kick off against the USA in Group A.
France to win
Henry has impressed on the road to the Olympics with his side unbeaten in their five warm up friendlies since the start of 2024 including four wins.
The only team to cause the some disruption was ironically the USA, who snatched a late 2-2 draw back in March. However, on home soil with the pressure of making a positive start, France should have more than enough to ease out a opening Group A victory in Marseille.
Over 3.5 goals
In those five outings, only one has featured under 3.5 goals scored in total, which came in a recent 1-1 draw with Japan. France have an attack packed with goals, with Olise, Lacazette and Mateta scoring a combined seven in their last three games.

France have been deadly in attack, but Henry will be concerned by their defensive record, with just one clean sheet in five games, coming via a 7-0 thrashing of the Dominican Republic.
The USA have scored in four of their own five games in preparation for the Olympics in 2024 and will be confident of causing some problems for an unfamiliar French defence.
First half under 1.5 goals
Despite their latest numbers showing goal filled games, it has taken France a while to get going in each match, with just one first half goal scored in three of their last five encounters.
If the USA can keep themselves in the contest going into the second half they will stand a chance of a positive result.
