Rodri
Manchester City star Rodri has been his usual stoic figure in the Spanish midfield as Luis de la Fuente’s team have stormed through to the final. He scored a crucial goal to draw Spain level in their 4-1 last 16 win over Georgia but it’s his steadying control that has been so vital for La Roja.
Spain are unbeaten in their last 19 games with him in the starting line up, and despite not grabbing the headlines, he remains a master of his craft and dictates the game for Luis de la Fuente’s finalists.
Cody Gakpo
Liverpool forward Cody Gakpo has once again shown the international stage is where he shines after scoring three goals at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Those performances sealed his move to Anfield, and despite a mixed 2023/24 on Merseyside, he ended the season with 16 goals in all competitions.
However, there is something about representing his country that has a Miroslav Klose/Superman effect on him. He scored three goals on route to the semi finals, and was unlucky not to get a fourth, which was eventually given as an own goal in their quarter final win over Turkey.
He is in the running for both the Golden Boot and the Golden Ball and has been central to the Dutch campaign.
Dani Olmo
RB Leipzig midfielder Dani Olmo has crashed the party in the knockout stages following his elevation from Spanish super sub. The 26-year-old has scored in all three knockout games on route to the final.
He came off the bench to wrap up the win over Georgia, and replaced the injured Pedri against Germany, to open the scoring in their quarter final victory.
A superb winner against France sealed Spain’s final spot and he will be a real threat on Sunday.
Lamine Yamal
Spain’s 16-year-old sensation Lamine Yamal has been forced to balance his school exams with tearing apart defences at Euro 2024. Commentators have mentioned his tender age on a constant basis during the tournament, but despite the repetition, it is quite unbelievable just how impressive he has been.
Exam revision has been a welcome distraction from the pressure, as he became the youngest ever scorer in a European Championship, as Spain knocked out France in the semis.
Jude Bellingham
Jude Bellingham is carrying England’s charge in this market with two goals so far for Gareth Southgate’s stuttering side in Germany. His header against Serbia opened England’s account at the Euro 2024 and sealed a 1-0 group stage win.
His last gasp bicycle kick saved England’s tournament against Slovakia, to force extra time in the last 16, and he is a decent outsider option.
