I watched the Spain quarter final in Mallorca with a load of Germans which was quite a mad experience! It was just nuts with that winner right at the end.
France still haven’t scored a goal from open play which is remarkable when you think they’re in the semi finals of a major competition. They’ve scored three goals in five games, two were own goals and one was a penalty.
I just wonder with France if they might stick Kylian Mbappe through the middle but it’s just about working at the moment.
Spain have been the standout team
We now know all about their young players, I just have a feeling that France will get through. If you can progress without scoring from open play then you’re obviously very, very hard to beat.
Credit to the Spanish, they’ve been excellent and they actually tried to score a second goal in the extra time against German in the quarters which they eventually did.
I feel France have been a bit negative. If they win the competition Didier Deschamps will have won both the Euros and the World Cup as a player and manager which would be some feat, a freak thing. I wonder if he’s protecting that a little bit.
If it goes how I think it will be hard on the Spanish because they are the best team in the tournament. The French are a mobile team, defensively they’re decent, and they have made opportunities to a certain degree but fluffed them.
Their way is the major tournament master plan really. They’ve been there and done it. If you make sure you concede very few goals you will get opportunities no matter who you are.
I’m going to go for a 0-0 Draw at full time and for France to progress on penalties. Semis finals are the most difficult games to play in all of football because you’re so near yet so far.
