Portugal, France and England have been relatively shy on the foul front so far, with Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher leading the way for the Three Lions by committing five fouls in just 118 minutes of game time. That’s some going.
Virgil van Dijk of Netherlands and Germany’s Robert Andrich have been foul machines at the tournament and the latter ended up with three in their Last 16 win against Denmark, while Spain and Switzerland have not been afraid to get stuck in.
Spain have three players on seven fouls after just four games, while Dan Ndoye and Remo Freuler are both on nine fouls each for the Swiss, which is an average of 2.25 fouls per game.

We’ve mentioned about fouls rising now we’re into the quarter-finals but who’s been getting a good kicking so far at Euro 2024?
England’s Last 16 hero Jude Bellingham is joint-top of the list, with the Real Madrid man getting fouled nine times in four outings. Harry Kane and Bukayo Saka are also being targeted by opposition defenders in Germany.
It also looks like there is a conspiracy to boot left-backs? Spain’s Marc Cucurella has been fouled six times and France’s Theo Hernandez has been being brought down a remarkable eight times.
Germany star boy Jamal Musiala is as tricky as they come and the fouls drawn tally represents that, while Ndoye of Switzerland is clearly all action by committing nine fouls and drawing 10 fouls so far.

We’re getting away from the dark arts now and focusing on attacking statistics – who’s testing the goalkeepers at Euro 2024?
Kane is England’s main man on four efforts on target which is a lowly tally compared to Cristiano Ronaldo’s eight and Kai Havertz’s nine shots on target. Cody Gakpo has also had seven efforts on target for Netherlands.
Although Havertz gets a lot of stick, he’s buried a couple of his chances, however, Ronaldo is still searching for his first goal at the tournament. He’s probably still got tears in his eyes after his penalty miss against Slovenia in the last 16. Poor Ronny.

While there might not be much value in backing Ronaldo to have a shot, especially considering he’s had 20 so far at the tournament, it’s worth keeping an eye on market outsiders to have an effort on goal.
Spain’s Fabian Ruiz has been sensational this summer and he’s already racked up 11 shots from midfield.
Holding midfielders Declan Rice, Granit Xhaka and Vitinha could all be worth looking into ahead of the quarter-finals. The games will likely be cagey and it could be an effort from long range that decides who reaches the final four.
