The Swiss have been good, they really have. England are looking like they’re going to play three at the back because Marc Guehi’s suspended. It seems like they’ve been practicing that in training so I think they’re going to go that way.
They’re a mad watch, England. They haven’t really got going and you could argue they looked a much better team in extra time against Slovakia when it was suddenly all on the line. I fancy England to beat the Swiss and I’m going to go 2-1 to England.
8pm: Netherlands v Turkey
Turkey will be flying after that win against Austria and that wonder save by the goalkeeper right at the end. They play with a lot of freedom but I always think with the Netherlands, they’re so hit and miss at major tournaments.
One game they’re good, another they’re average. There’s a couple of days where you go, ‘Wow!’ and this might be one of them. They’ll probably get beat in the semi finals but I’m going to go with The Netherlands to win 1-0, I thought they were much improved against Romania.
They admitted they needed to be better and they were which I admired. Turkey have an element of carnage about them but the Netherlands are good up front. Cody Gakpo keeps scoring but they’re all interchangeable and they’re quite difficult to play against on their day.
