The Euro 2024 group stages are officially over and we’re into the ever thrilling knockout stages with Spain v Georgia to enjoy on Sunday evening.
Paddy ambassador Phil Thompson‘s come firing out the traps for the Last 16 after slamming in 6/1 and 17/1 punts on Germany v Denmark on Saturday night.
But who will come out on top in this one? Will Georgia’s brilliant run continue or will dark horses Spain go deeper in the competition? Let’s get his full thoughts…

Spain have looked good so far at Euro 2024 and they’ve had a couple of decent results. They beat Croatia 3-0 in their opener before 1-0 wins against Italy and Albania to finish top of Group B.
However, I’m worried that they only have Alvaro Morata up top and they’re heavily reliant on him.
Spain have slightly gone under the radar and they face a Georgia side who have been a great story at the tournament.
They will defend deep against Spain in hope of frustrating them, just like they did in their win against Portugal last time out. Cristiano Ronaldo and Co. had no idea how to break them down.
Georgia have been good at shutting up shop but they’ve also been an attacking threat.
Despite that, I have to side with Spain as they should have too much quality.
I’m with Spain to Win 2-0 as a Correct Score fancy. Luis de la Fuente’s side are yet to concede at the tournament and that should continue on Sunday evening.
I also have a Bet Builder in mind for the clash. I’m on Spain -1, Alvaro Morata to Score, Ferran Torres to Have 1+ Shots On Target and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia to Have 1+ Shots On Target.
