Euro 2024 Round of 16 match – Dortmund
TV: ITV 1/RTE2
Jamal Musiala to have 2+ shots
Jamal Musiala has starred for Germany so far at Euro 2024 and is likely to play a key role in Dortmund against Denmark.
The Bayern Munich winger has offered 2.08 shots per 90 minutes in the tournament to date, scoring twice, and hitting the target with 60% of his shots.
Manager Julian Nagelsmann has been saving his legs for this type of occasion. He has yet to play more than 75 minutes in a match and should, therefore, be fresh for this encounter.
After scoring in Germany’s opening two fixtures of the competition, his confidence should be high enough to try his luck with efforts at goal. Expect another big performance from the 21-year-old.
Ilkay Gundogan to have 2+ shots
Deployed in an attacking midfield role by Germany boss Nagelsmann, Ilkay Gundogan is in line for an important offensive role for the hosts.
His importance to Die Mannschaft has been underlined by the fact he offered seven shots in the group stage of the competition, at a rate of 2.41 per 90. Indeed, he has at least two shots in each match, in stark contrast to his club form, where he plays a deeper role at Barcelona.
To the fore of Nagelsmann’s plans, though, Gundogan’s attacking talents have been unlocked, so look for another big offensive showing in this game from the 33-year-old.

Over 8.5 corners
No nation at Euro 2024 has won more corners than Germany’s 25, although Portugal are level with them on that figure. The hosts are picking up more than eight per game on average.
Denmark, meanwhile, are no slouches in this regard. They sit third in this ranking on 21.The style of both teams forces opponents to give up these situations. Denmark won four corners against England, accounting for two-thirds of the corners the Three Lions have conceded at the tournament.
Joakim Maehle to commit 1+ fouls
This clash promises to be a big test for Denmark’s defensive players, but particularly for their wing-backs. Joakim Maehle will be up against Musiala, with the Bayern Munich man on a run of 11 successive competitive starts for club and country in which he has been fouled.
Maehle, meanwhile, has given away 1.43 fouls per 90 at the Euros with his direct opponent is picking up 2.08.
The Wolfsburg player notably gave away three free kicks when Denmark faced England with Phil Foden as his rival. This promises to be a similar test for him.
Alexander Bah to commit 1+ fouls
Right-wing back Alexander Bah is overdue committing a foul at Euro 2024. The Benfica man gave away 1.18 per 90 in the Portuguese top flight last season but has not committed a single indiscretion in Germany.
Expect that to change on Saturday as he faces the prospect of tangling with Florian Wirtz and, perhaps more pertinently, Germany wingback Maximilian Mittelstadt. Stuttgart defender Mittelstadt has won nine free kicks, which is second most in the competition.
Wirtz, meanwhile, won more than a foul per game as Bayer Leverkusen won the Bundesliga title in 2023/24. Bah could be stretched to the limit.
