USA -1 (Handicap Betting)

The USA and Uruguay have established themselves as by far the best teams in Group C, with both sides looking to secure passage into the knockout stages with victories on Thursday night.

They recorded comfortable victories over Bolivia and Panama respectively in the opening round of games, and both teams will be confident of registering another comfortable victory, when the opposition is switched around.

Tournament hosts USA enjoyed a hugely comfortable opening round win over Bolivia, taking a two goal lead at half time and dominating in every possible statistic.

Panama, on the other hand, were dominated by Uruguay in their opening game of the competition and should offer little resistance against the hosts.

Christian Pulisic to Score or Assist

Christian Pulisic scored the USA’s first goal of the Copa America with a brilliant curling effort against Bolivia after just three minutes.

He also provided the assist for Folarin Balogun’s goal on Sunday night and is probably the most likely American player to make a goal scoring contribution.

Pulisic boasts an impressive international scoring record of 30 goals in 69 appearances for the States and has scored eight in his last 13 appearances for his country.

He also provided 18 assists in his international career to date and is coming off the back of a club campaign that saw him score 15 times and register nine assists at AC Milan.

Panama to Commit 14 or More Fouls

High foul counts have been a hallmark of this Copa America to date.

From the first 10 games, six have involved at least one team that has committed 14 fouls or more, there have also been three games where both teams have committed at least 14 fouls. The US drew 17 fouls against Bolivia and could win a similar number against Panama.

They only conceded nine fouls in their defeat to Uruguay, but the US are likely to enjoy more of the ball than the 55% possession recorded by Uruguay, which increases the likelihood of Panama fouls.

Over 3.5 Goals

Only one game has seen more than three goals at the Copa America to date. That match involved Uruguay.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side have been in excellent form over the past year, convincingly beaten Panama in their opening game of the Copa America and thumping Mexico 4-0 in a pre-tournament friendly.

They also recorded mightily impressive wins over Brazil and Argentina in World Cup qualifiers and clearly have the ability to score against any opponent, particularly one as weak as Bolivia, who they dispatched 3-0 in November. However, they have also shown weakness at the back, as Bielsa’s sides often do.

In the last 12 months, they have played a total of 11 games, including both friendlies and competitive internationals. The have kept clean sheets in just five of those games, conceding nine goals in the process.

Darwin Nunez to have Five or More Shots

Darwin Nunez got his Copa America campaign off to a perfect start with a goal in the win over Panama and the Liverpool striker will be itching to continue the scoring streak.

As so often is the case for Liverpool, Nunez needed five shots on goal to score against Panama and he could easily register similar figures in a game Uruguay are likely to dominate.

Bielsa’s side had 20 shots and seven efforts on target during their win over Panama, while Bolivia faced 20 shots in their defeat against the US.

It stands to reason that Uruguay will register a similar number of shots, and Nunez has every chance of matching the five efforts he attempted against Panama.
