Celebrate good times, come on! Euro 2024 is into the final round of group games and Paddy’s pal Mark Lawrenson’s champing at the bit to get stuck into the crunch clashes in Germany.
Instead of kicking back and getting ready for the new club season he’s answered the international call and will be delivering his Euro 2024 predictions every bloomin’ day of the tournament right here on Paddy Power News.
It’s all go on Wednesday with Group E and F reaching a climax. At 8pm both Georgia and the Czech Republic are on the brink of elimination after their 1-1 draw and both will have to win against Portugal and Turkey respectively to have any chance of progression. In Group E it’s all up for grabs with every team on three points heading into the last. Just glorious.
It’s looking like another belting day so here’s how Lawro thinks it’s all going to go down with his crafty calls added in to a cracker of an acca for good measure. Take it away, Lawro.

Slovakia v Romania (5pm) is a tough one to call. Slovakia got off to a great start against Belgium but lost to Ukraine while Romania thumped the Ukrainians and then lost to Belgium. Everyone’s on three points so this should be a lot of fun for us as neutrals.
This is a tricky one to call but I think it might be an exciting game, end to end with everything on the line. Let’s have both teams to score in a 2-1 Romania win. Both Teams to Score Or Over 2.5 Goals looks good.
I expect the higher-ranked team to get it done in this Ukraine v Belgium game (5pm). That opener was a shocker for Belgium and now they’re chasing their tails a bit but they are back on parity with everyone thanks to that win over the Romanians.
Romelu Lukaku can’t buy a goal but he’s been so unlucky. It’s only a matter of time surely until he comes good and Lukaku might get the only goal in a 1-0 Win for Belgium.
This Czech Republic v Turkey (8pm) game will be hotly contested, if their previous games are anything to go by. Turkey have a bit of quality about them and they’ve got the Real Madrid wonderkid in Arda Guler. They’re in the driving seat heading in to this game and are second on three points.
They were fab against Georgia and got a bit of a schooling against the Portuguese but I fancy Turkey to just pip this 1-0, maybe a goal right at the end because the Czechs have to win to progress. This could be very tight and nervy with Under 2.5 Goals.
Georgia v Portugal (8pm) will be very one sided you feel. Portugal will just get the job done and they know how to do it against teams like Georgia. Portugal are qualified and should finish top but they might ring the changes.
The Georgians have fought like hell and they’ll have a go but their Euros ends here. I fancy a nice, comfortable, 2-0 win for Portugal. They’ll give it their all but I don’t think Georgia can hurt them so it’s Portugal To Win To Nil.
