Celebrate good times, come on! Euro 2024 is into the final round of group games and Paddy’s pal Mark Lawrenson’s champing at the bit to get stuck into the crunch clashes in Germany.
Instead of kicking back and getting ready for the new club season he’s answered the international call and will be delivering his Euro 2024 predictions every bloomin’ day of the tournament right here on Paddy Power News.
It’s all go on Tuesday with Group D and then C reaching a climax. At 5pm France aim to beat Poland to take top spot and there’s a juicy shootout between the Netherlands and Austria to try and take the second automatic qualification spot. England will bore us all to death against Slovenia at 8pm while Denmark and Serbia fight for the right to party in the last 16.
It’s looking like another belting day so here’s how Lawro thinks it’s all going to go down with his crafty calls added in to a tasty acca for good measure. Take it away, Lawro.

I think Kylian Mbappe will be back in the team for France v Poland (5pm) as they need to win to guarantee top spot in the group. This might be quite a dull game as France will just get the job done and Poland are already out.
I can see an easy 2-0 win for France. France to Win to Nil looks a bet, they’re yet to concede in this tournament.
I’m really looking forward to the Netherlands v Austria game (5pm). I’ve been so impressed with Austria over the last couple of weeks and I think they might pip the Netherlands here who are solid but unspectacular.
Austria have got something about them, they unsettle you with their work rate and they might catch the Dutch out. I’ll for 2-1 to Austria with Both Teams to Score which will see them through in second but the Netherlands will most likely progress as a third-placed team anyway.
This Denmark v Serbia (8pm) game will be interesting because both can go out if Serbia win and both can go out if it’s a draw so there’s all kinds of permutations on the table. One thing we do know is that Serbia have to win or they’re definitely on the next plane home.
I was impressed with Denmark against England for all the wailing about how Gareth Southgate sets them up and the shape and all that. They’re a good, composed side and I think they’ll have too much so I fancy Denmark to Win 1-0 and progress.
There’s quite a bit of pressure on England v Slovenia (8pm) for Southgate because, even though they’re guaranteed third spot in the group and will probably progress, everyone’s waiting for a proper performance from them. Slovenia have plenty to play for and you never know, a draw might be enough for them to sneak through.
I think England will win 2-0 though, they always start a bit slowly and then get going. They look better against the better teams actually so I think they’ll grind this out with Under 2.5 Goals in the game and grow from here on out.
