Football Tips: Thommo’s 5/1 France v Poland prediction for Group D clash

Phil Thompson can't see past a win for Les Blues in Dortmund

France v Poland Tips

France to Win 2-0

Phil Thompson is back to give us his France v Poland predictions for Tuesday’s Euro 2024 clash at Signal Iduna Park – home to Champions League finalists Borussia Dortmund.

Kylian Mbappe has been banging in the goals – albeit in a friendly game as he gets used to wearing a mask to protect his broken nose. But will he start this one? Thommo’s not so sure…

As for Poland, they look set to exit the tournament with a whimper after three consecutive defeats.

If I was them, I would keep Mbappe back and have him as a substitute.

They should win this one without him.

France have only scored one goal so far, though, so maybe they are feeling a little delicate, but you have to fancy them to beat Poland.

Robert Lewandowski only got 30 minutes in their last game, and they’ve lost their two matches (2-1 to Netherlands, 3-1 to Austria).

This should be quite comfortable for France. If Mbappe does start, he’s worth a punt in the goalscorer market.

I’ve got him for the Golden Boot, so I’m hoping the two he scored in a behind-closed-doors friendly last week count to that!

France have four points so one point would probably be enough, but they’ll want to win it and start showing some form.

I fancy them to win this 2-0.

As for a Bet Builder, well, I think they’ll keep another clean sheet as they have in both games so far. I’ve got France to Win, Both Teams To Score: No, Antoine Griezmann to Score Anytime & Marcus Thuram – who I think will replace Mbappe – to have 1+ Shots on Target.

Thommo’s picks combine at around 7/1 in a Paddy Power Bet Builder. CLICK HERE TO ADD IT TO YOUR BETSLIP.
