Slovenia to Commit 11+ Fouls

The Slovenian team have gone over the 11 or more foul mark in both of the group games in Euro 2024 so far, conceding 12 against Denmark in the opener and 13 against Serbia last time.

This is a fairly common theme in Slovenian international matches, they also conceded 11 or more in the two internationals prior to the tournament.

England were the most fouled team over the opening two rounds of the competition as well, receiving 28 fouls across the first two matches. With the players in the England front line such as the dribblers of Phil Foden and Bukayo Saka, the powerful running of Jude Bellingham, and the wily centre-forward play of Harry Kane, this seems like a quartet of players who are well capable of drawing a lot of fouls.

Vanja Drkusic to Commit 1+ Foul

Drkusic could be one of the players drawn into making fouls, probably on the experienced Harry Kane. The Slovenian central defender is a touch-tight defender who likes getting into contact. His battles with Aleksander Mitrovic, Dusan Vlahovic, Jonas Wind, and Rasmus Hojlund suggest that he will be looking to play the same way here.

Drkusic averages 1.25 fouls per 90 in a Slovenia shirt, which is very similar to his career average for his clubs, so even though he has very few Slovenia starts, his record is actually fairly consistent across a few years of football.

KNOW SOD ALL ABOUT EITHER TEAM?

Benjamin Sesko to Have 2+ Shots

The RB Leipzig frontman has been consistent in getting two shots away in the tournament so far, doing exactly that against Serbia and Denmark, despite not being as involved in the match as he might’ve wanted to be.

He has averaged 2.8 shots per 90 for Leipzig this season, and he will be keen to show what he can do against England, especially against the Premier League defenders that he will be up against in this match. He is a powerful unit, who is dangerous in the air, as well as having good movement to be available for cutbacks and passes through from midfielders.

Jude Bellingham to Have 1+ Shots on Target

As much as any England player, Bellingham will be acutely aware of the importance of turning the performance levels up. From this match onwards the importance of the results increases and goals are going to become even more valuable.

Bellingham has hit the target at least once in eleven of his last sixteen England starts and has averaged 1.3 shots on target per 90 for Real Madrid this season as well.‌

He looks to be England’s biggest threat behind Harry Kane, even if that has been somewhat lacking in England’s matches so far, if that aspect of England’s play improves then one can be sure that Bellingham will be on the end of more chances in central locations.
