Turkey beat Georgia 3-1 in their opening Euro 2024 clash in what was surely the game of the opening set of fixtures.
We sat down with Paddy’s mate Phil Thompson to get his thoughts for this Group F face off…

Portugal won two and lost two of their last four, but they’ve got so many good players. I looked at their last warm-up game and it wasn’t just the team I looked at – it was the subs bench. Wow. They have so much talent in this squad. It’s just a case of can they do it when it really matters.
I know they’ve won the Euros before, and Cristiano Ronaldo is still playing who I think will have a big impact. Turkey had no real form going into this tournament, and I think Portugal will win this 3-1.
It’s Ronaldo all the way from a goal-scoring point of view. A bit like Messi over at Copa America, this could be his last international tournament and I’ll back him to get a goal.
