Celebrate good times, come on! Euro 2024 is fully up and running and Paddy’s pal Mark Lawrenson’s giddy with excitement as the best in the continent start go at it for the next four weeks.
Instead of kicking back and getting ready for the new club season he’s answered the international call and will be delivering his Euro 2024 predictions every bloomin’ day of the tournament right here on Paddy Power News.
Monday sees some meaty clashes and one of the tournament favourites making their bow so cancel those Zoom meetings because it’s Romania v Ukraine, Belgium v Slovakia and Austria v France on the menu. It’s looking like another belting day so here’s how Lawro thinks it’s all going to go down with his crafty calls added in to a tasty treble for good measure. Take it away, Lawro.

Monday starts with what could be quite a low-key Romania v Ukraine clash. Ukraine will be everyone’s favourite second team. Everyone will want them to get as far as possible, and they’ve got some good players by the way, but I fancy a 1-1 here with Both Teams To Score.
Belgium v Slovakia should be quite one sided, this has got a Germany v Scotland feel for me. Belgium have underachieved but they’ve got a new manager now in Domenico Tedesco as Roberto Martinez has gone to Portugal. I fancy them to hammer Slovakia because they’ve got real quality.
Sometimes they head into the tournaments and look great then the next day they just don’t show up. I don’t get that but that’s the manager’s job to stop that. This could get ugly for Slovakia so I’ll say 3-0 to Belgium and Over 2.5 Goals.
This Austria v France game could be the best of the tournament so far but the French will have too much for Austria. They are very similar to England and they are a real prospect in terms of going deep.
I fancy them to win but the French do like to make hard work of it sometimes so I think they might go behind but come back to win 2-1. France to Win and Both Teams To Score looks a good bet.
