7pm: Albania v Liechtenstein
Albania -2
With Euro 2024 just round the corner, we’ve got international friendlies to get stuck into on Monday night – and first up is Albania v Liechtenstein.
Albania won their qualifying group ahead of Czech Republic and Poland, while Liechtenstein lost all 10 of their qualifiers. They also conceded 28 goals and scored just once.
Albania should have more than enough to beat Liechtenstein comfortably so we’re backing them -2 on the Handicap. That means we need them to win by three or more goals.
In their last four wins, Albania have scored 10 and conceded once. That trend can continue against the 203rd-ranked Liechtenstein.
7:45pm: England v Bosnia
England -1
Gareth Southgate’s side are also in action on Monday as they host Bosnia at St. James’ Park. England are the favourites to lift the trophy in Germany and although there will be numerous changes to the line-up, the Three Lions should have far too much quality for the visitors.
We’re siding with England -1 on the Handicap market so a 2-0 win in favour of the Three Lions will get the job done. Five of England’s six wins in qualifying were by two or more goals and players like Cole Palmer and Jarrod Bowen will be desperate to prove themselves in these friendlies as they look for a spot in the final Euro 2024 squad.
Both Teams to Score? No
England scored 22 goals and conceded just four times in their eight Euro qualifiers so backing Both Teams to Score? No makes plenty of sense.
Bosnia didn’t qualify for this year’s tournament so we can’t see them causing England too many problems. Southgate will also demand a performance from his side to get in the right headspace for Euro 2024.
Cole Palmer to Score
Our final England v Bosnia pick is Palmer to Score.
We originally had Bukayo Saka as our selection to get on the scoresheet, however, the Arsenal man is now sidelined through injury.
Palmer was sensational for Chelsea and the Blues will dread to think where they’d have finished without him this season.
The former Manchester City man netted 25 goals in all competitions for Chelsea and chipped in with 13 assists. With Palmer fighting for his spot on the plane, expect him to turn it on.
7:45pm: Germany v Ukraine
Germany to Win
Finally, we’re focusing on Germany v Ukraine as the Euro 2024 hosts continue their preparations.
Julian Nagelsmann’s side look to be a real force once again and they’ll fancy their chances of going all the way in front of their home fans this summer.
Germany automatically qualified as hosts but they should be able to turn it on against Ukraine, who had to win a couple of play-offs to book their place at this year’s tournament. We’re on a home victory.
Over 2.5 Goals
We’re expecting Germany to win but we’re also on the hunt for goals.
There have been three or more goals in six of Germany’s last eight outings and Nagelsmann’s men have netted two or more goals in six of their last seven games. The home side just have too much quality for this one to be a snoozefest.
Kai Havertz to Score
Many thought Arsenal were mad to sign Kai Havertz from Chelsea, however, he was brilliant for the Gunners this season when playing as a No. 9.
He netted 14 times and chipped in with seven assists in all competitions – and he’ll be hoping to take that form into this summer’s tournament.
Havertz took nine shots in Arsenal’s last game of the season against Everton and we can expect more of the same for the national team. We’re backing him to find the back of the net.
